I have been reading and hearing a lot about several groups who are pushing for a merger of Mexico, USA, and Canada. I have heard it praised and railed against. I even read where they were calling it the sign of the mark of the beast.
So How do you feel about it?

Merger in what regard? On the order of the European Union?
At any rate, no sign of the mark of the beast....

jwharv.... why don't you share an article that people could read???
I am for it! the worst 2 things that America ever did were
1. loosing the battle of Qubec
2. Not annexing Mexico after the Mexican-American war.

AGAINST IT, because Ferd is for it....
Nah...a merger would not be good... an annexiation (sp) where Mexico and Canada agree to abide by the US Constitution....that would be better....sorta like adding the terroritores(sp) years ago

Two questions:
1. Where would all of the draft dodgers seek refuge?
2. Wouldn't there be a huge migration from Mexico to the USA and Canada?

we would need to get that wall built first.

I don't know whether these are intellectual musings or the spirit giving 'a space to get my house in order':noidea but...
I really do believe the Mexican and Canadian border are very soon going to be 'former' as defining concepts related to identity.
We have the example of States entering into a federal union despite unimaginable consternation among the participants. Does the wisdom represented here at AFF 'loathe' the day the various states were UNITED?
Our internal demographic is experiencing a greatly accelerated transformation based on the perfect storm; severe disparity in adjacent residents quality of life AND the "love-of-money". We are observing a purposed shift that is not being controlled by rulers in "low places".
If Texas, with all its LONE-ness, including a stint with total soverignty(sp?), could eventually acquiesce to thoughts of the inevidable or the practical, the UNION of three formerly soverign nations is very much on track.
In my present state of mind and with consideration of my children that will follow my life span, I think I am in favor of it. It seems to bring more options to lessen the rapidly forming, gross chasm between a worker-class in the midst of regions that have such unprescedented wealth. God may not be too far removed from all this.
More land, more development, more natural resources would benefit America. Our current trend in budgetary and trading debt will crush us. Maybe after we are crushed this option will look even more equitable to us "formerly USA-only" advocates. Who knows...maybe the banner that we live under will actually be a place where we manufacture something again.
