DA, I like you. But it is the epitome of Forum Ignorance and lack of etiquette, IMO, to bump every known thread about a particular topic. Especially one that has been addressed to death and will naturally come back on it's own in time.
Someone that knows how to reach me, please let me know when we return to normal. (Well, forget normal. Let's say to regular posting.) :noidea

You just need to stir things up once in a while. Since I'm an expert, let me give you a pointer or two. First, find something that someone said that you disagree with. Don't just let it slide with a soothing, casual remark in passing. Say something like,
"HEY! THAT'S NOTHING BUT A LIE STRAIGHT OUT OF THE PITS OF HELL AND IF YOU HAD ONE BRAIN CELL LEFT BETWEEN YOUR EARS, YOU WOULD KNOW IT WAS A LIE."
Now, that would rock the boat a little bit. You will note:
1. You did not say HE lied but the lie came from hell. So, you are safe.
2. You did not say that he did not have any brain cells but only specualted that IF he had any. So you are safe there too.
3. you did not say that he was empty headed, only speculated that IF he had anything between his ears. Safe there also.
4. If you did not get things stirred up on the forum, you can rest with the assurance that you got things stirred up in the Admin area. You can sit back and relax as you can only imagine what they are saying to each other there.
5. One way or another, you will have things going. Ask Elder Epley. :killinme

It is irritating when old threads are bumped and nothing has been added. This happened on one of the previous forums where someone bumped all of his old threads and obliterated the first page of that day's threads. The forum is not a free for all. People just need to show some class.

Thank you for the wise words.
A person who continues to make a nuisance of himself or herself, and refuses to behave in a manner consistent with good manners and good sense needs to get the message somehow.
Some folks have a hard time receiving any kind of instruction, and resent any kind of check on their behavior.
Perhaps the banned individual falls somewhere into this category.

It's true that several threads were bumped by 2 different people. One gets banned and the other doesn't. So the reason had to have gone beyond the "bumping".
Looking at it from the back row seat here it seems like there's some inequality but then I guess the judgment call is made from those more qualified than spectators sitting in the back row. :)

PP, I am asking for you to consider the manner of engagement that D.A. regularly engages those he deems antagonists from his point of view, and then consider the manner in which Amos framed his opinion about what could be at work with D.A., and then determine if the atmosphere that accompained Amos' post was 'way harsh'.

I think spamming or nuisance posting is a legitimate issue. The forum is for all of us and we (and admin) decide as a community what is allowable. If one person bumps all their threads and it removes all the other threads from that day (which happened on another forum) I do not think it should be acceptable. I am not speaking of whatever happened yesterday because I don't know what happened. But anything goes shouldn't be acceptable either. That isn't in the rules, it's just MY opinion. The forum is for the enjoyment and edification of the majority, IMO.

I agree.
I also think admin has to have the leeway to address things that aren't specifically covered in the rules, but that can have a negative effect on the forum.
Another thing to consider is that we really don't know why he was banned.
The idea that it was the bumping of all the threads is really only an assumption. There may be an issue we don't know about.
