This might be kinda harder to find the lyrics on the net or youtube clips, but what songs build your faith up and make you want to worship Him?
There are many old and new favorites....at the moment I am listening to Vicki Yohe's "Because of who you are", this one blesses me.
There are some older CLC songs too that I remember when I first came to the Lord.

"Friend of God" makes my spirit soar every time I sing it to the Lord:
Who am I that you are mindful of me?
That you hear me when I call?
Is it true that you are thinking of me?
How you love me?
It's amazing!
I am a friend of God
I am a friend of God
I am a friend of God
He calls me, friend.
God Almighty
Lord of Glory
You have called me friend

He Will Do It Again
You may be down and feel like God
has somehow forgotten
that you are faced with circumstances
You can't get through.
And right now it seems there's no way out
And you're going under.
But God's proved time and time again
He will take care of you.
Chorus:
And he will do it again,
He'll do it again. He will do it again.
If you just take a look
At where you're now
And where you've been.
Hasn't He always come through for you?
He's the same now as then.
You may not know how,
You may not know when,
But He'll do it again.
God knows the things that you're going through.
And He knows how you're hurting.
And you see, God knows just how your heart
Has been broken in two.
But He's the God of the sun, the moon, and the stars,
And he is your Father.
If He can calm the storm
I know He'll find the way to fix it for you.
Chorus
He's still God, and He's fighting for you
Yes, He's still God and He's never change
Oh, I know that He's God
And He's fighting for you
Just like Moses, just like Daniel
Just like Meshach, Shadrach, Abednego
He'll do it again for you, He'll do it again,
If you just take a look at where you are now
and where you have been
Hasn't He always come through for you,
He's the same now as then
You may not know how, you may not know when,
but He'll do it again
You may not know how, you may not know when, but He'll do it again.

Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heaven and home,
When Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
Refrain
I sing because I’m happy,
I sing because I’m free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.
“Let not your heart be troubled,” His tender word I hear,
And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears;
Though by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
Refrain
Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise,
When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies,
I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
Refrain

The Crabb Family Video of "Through The Fire":
http://www.leechvideo.com/video/view3000969.html
THROUGH THE FIRE
So many times I've questioned certain circumstances
Things I could not understand;
Many times in trials, weakness blurs my vision
Then my frustration gets so out of hand
It's then I am reminded.
I've never been forsaken.
I've never had to stand the test alone.
As I look at all the victories the spirit rises up in me
And it's through the fire my weakness is made strong.
Chorus:
He never promised that the cross would not get heavy
And the hill would not be hard to climb
He never offered me a victory without fighting
But he said help would always come in time;
Just remember when you're standing in the valley of decision
And the adversary says give in
Just hold on, our Lord will show up
And he will take you through the fire again
I know within myself that I would surely perish
But if I trust the hand of God, He'll shield the flames again and again and again.
He never promised that the cross would not get heavy
And the hill would not be hard to climb
He never offered me a victory without fighting
But he said help would always come in time;
Just remember when you're standing in the valley of decision
And the adversary says give in
Just hold on, our Lord will show up
And he will take you through the fire again

Ride Out Your Storm
You've been in the storm....It seems like forever..
And your night of Confusion...Has been OH so long...
Your Ship has lost anchor...And the storms got your drifting..
Just Hold on to Jesus..And Ride out your storm..
CHORUS:
Ride out your storm...God's right there with you...
You may not feel him...But you're never alone...
You're hurting now...But your morning is coming..
Just hold on to Jesus...And ride out your storm....
Remember His promise...He said I'll never forsake you.
Though the waters are raging...They'll do you no harm...
Don't give up the battle ...For your answer is coming...
Just hold on to Jesus ..And Ride out your storm...
CHORUS:
Ride out your storm...God's right there with you...
You may not feel him...But you're never alone...
You're hurting now...But your morning is coming..
Just hold on to Jesus...And ride out your storm....
He's right there you...Just ride out your storm.
He'll never fail you...Just ride out your storm.

I'd Rather Have Jesus
George Beverly Shea, Rhea F. Miller
Verse 1
I'd rather have Jesus than silver or gold
I'd rather be His than have riches untold
I'd rather have Jesus than houses or lands
I'd rather be led by His nail-pierced hands
Chorus
Than to be the king of a vast domain
Or be held in sin's dread sway
I'd rather have Jesus than anything
This world affords today
Verse 2
I'd rather have Jesus than men's applause
I'd rather be faithful to His dear cause
I'd rather have Jesus than worldwide fame
I'd rather be true to His holy name
Chorus
I'd rather have, You, Jesus than anything
This world affords today
I'd rather have, You, Jesus than anything

Remind Me Dear Lord
Written by Dottie Rambo
Verse I
The things that I love, and hold dear to my heart
Are just borrowed they’re not mine at all
Jesus only lets me use them to brighten my life
So remind me, remind me dear Lord
Chorus
Roll back the curtain of memories now and then
Show me where you brought me from
Oh, and where I could have been
Remember I’m human, and humans forget
So remind me, remind me dear Lord
Verse II
Nothing good have I done to deserve God’s own Son
I’m not worthy of the scars in His hand
Yet He chose the road to Calv’ry to die in my stead
Why He loved me, I can’t understand
Repeat chorus, then:
So remind me, remind me dear Lord

Still Go Free
As performed by the Hinsons
Verse I
Lock me up in a prison, and throw away the key
Take away the vision, from these eyes that now can see
Deprive me of the food I eat
You can even bind my hands and feet
But as long as I have Jesus
Then I can still go free
Chorus
That I could still go free
What kind of man, would reach down His hand
And do this for me?
Unworthy to live, and not fit to kill
Then a man on the cross, put me in his will
And said that I could still go free
Verse II
Now I never could quite understand
Why a King would want to leave His throne
To dawn the robes of an earthly man
Feel the pain of flesh and bone
And to later trod, trod a lowly path
That led to Calvary
Where the blood washed stains
Broke all the chains
So that I could still go free
Repeat chorus then,
And said that I could still go free
Take this job and shove it??
Thats a good classic I used to sing when I worked for someone else! LOL

Just this morning I woke up singing an old, old song. The wife said, "I never heard you sing that song before, bet I can tell you the name." I said yes, it is "I Will Never Turn Back."
Songs of consecration like these are seldom ever sung anymore. The churches have become so enamored with THE CHANT. In stead of being lifted to the realm of love, devotion and consecration that such songs bring us, we have moved into a strange realm of chant. We are paying the spiritual price for it.
I love the old songs like, "I Surrender All," "My Savior First of All," "It Is Love, My Saviors' Love." A few nights ago, I was singing in my sleep, "It Is Well With My Soul."
It is a different spirit and a different realm of spiritual sacrifice than that of the modern day Pentecostal Chant in so many churches. It almost makes you want to cry when Pentecostal kids tell their parents, "Mommy we learned a brand new song in Sunday School today, it's called "Power In the Blood."

Sometime like
"One more river to cross, one more mountain to climb, one more battle that I've got to go through, leavin all my troubles behind, one more battle with the devil and I know you'll understand. Im goin through with Jesus Hallelujah, holdin to his nail scared hands"
Today at work I was thinking and praying and singing...all day!! :musicnotes
For a couple of hours I was singing the chorus to a song that was quite popular in the 70s, Praise the Lord.
I began to think about what praise can do and what it can mean in the life of a child of God...to praise in advance of the answer...to praise before I see the solution...to praise in the midst of the storm.
One of my nephews preached a sermon when he was eight years old, Praise Makes The devil Nervous!!
I can just picture in my mind me praying and standing on the Word, and the enemy, as my pastor preached Sunday, unleashing the powers from the deep.
But when I begin to praise the Name of the Lord, thanking Him for what He has done and will do, I can see the demons wringing their hands and pacing back and forth, and saying, "We've lost her...she's praising...it's all over now!!"
And so today I'm singing...
Praise the Lord!!
He can work through those who praise Him
Praise the Lord!!
For our God inhabits praise
Praise the Lord!!
For the chains that seem to bind us
Serve only to remind us
That they drop powerless behind us
When we praise Him!!

Satan is a liar
And he wants to make us feel
Like we are paupers when he knows himself we're children of the King
So lift up the mighty shields of faith
For this battle must be won
We know that Jesus Christ is risen
So the works already done

IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL
When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blessed assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
- Words by Horatio G. Spafford, 1873
- Music by Philip P. Bliss, 1876
The words to this hymn was written after two major traumas in Spafford's life. The first was the Great Chicago Fire of October 1871, which ruined him financially. Shortly after, while crossing the Atlantic, all four of Spafford's daughters died in a collision with another ship. Spafford's wife Anna survived and sent him the now famous telegram: "SAVED ALONE." Several weeks later, as Spafford's own ship passed near the spot where his daughters died, he was inspired to write these words.
Bliss originally named the tune "Ville de Havre" after the ship on which Spafford's four girls perished, the SS Ville de Havre. Ironically, Bliss himself died in a tragic train wreck shortly after writing this music.

OH MY DEAR LORD!!!
If I could dry my eyes enough to see, I would write this response to that....
I was singing this song in my sleep recently. Oh my how I sung it!
Give me singing like this any day over some of this goofy Pentecostal chanting that so many churches have going on nowadays.
Now, somebody see if they can find "Nearer My God To Thee."
Also see if you can find...
There is something in my soul
that makes the halleujahs roll
it is love, my saviors love
O the precious love of Jesus
how it thrills my ransomed soul
oer and oer I'll sing his praises
while the happy ages roll.

This is one of the few songs I like to play in "G"...I love this old Hemphill song :)
1. My boat of life sails on a troubled sea
Whenever there's a wind in my sail.
But I have a friend who watches over me
When the breeze turns into a gale.
CHORUS:
I know the Master of the wind.
I know the Maker of the rain.
He can calm a storm, make the sun shine again.
I know the Master of the wind.
2. Sometimes I soar like an eagle through the sky
Above the peaks my soul can be found.
An unexpected storm may drive me from the heights
Brings me low, but never brings me down.
CHORUS:
I know the Master of the wind.
I know the Maker of the rain.
He can calm a storm, make the sun shine again.
I know the Master of the wind.
He can calm a storm and make the sun shine again
I know the Master of the wind.

Wonderful Peace (A really, real oldie)..lol
Text: W.D. Cornell 1889
Music: W. G. Cooper 1889
Far away in the depths of my spirit tonight
Rolls a melody sweeter than psalm;
In celestial-like strains it unceasingly falls
O’er my soul like an infinite calm.
Peace, peace, wonderful peace,
Coming down from the Father above!
Sweep over my spirit forever, I pray
In fathomless billows of love!
What a treasure I have in this wonderful peace,
Buried deep in the heart of my soul,
So secure that no power can mine it away,
While the years of eternity roll!
Peace, peace, wonderful peace,
Coming down from the Father above!
Sweep over my spirit forever, I pray
In fathomless billows of love!
I am resting tonight in this wonderful peace,
Resting sweetly in Jesus’ control;
For I’m kept from all danger by night and by day,
And His glory is flooding my soul!
Peace, peace, wonderful peace,
Coming down from the Father above!
Sweep over my spirit forever, I pray
In fathomless billows of love!
And methinks when I rise to that City of peace,
Where the Author of peace I shall see,
That one strain of the song which the ransomed will sing
In that heavenly kingdom shall be:
Peace, peace, wonderful peace,
Coming down from the Father above!
Sweep over my spirit forever, I pray
In fathomless billows of love!
Ah! soul, are you here without comfort and rest,
Marching down the rough pathway of time?
Make Jesus your Friend ere the shadows grow dark;
O accept this sweet peace so sublime!
Peace, peace, wonderful peace,
Coming down from the Father above!
Sweep over my spirit forever, I pray
In fathomless billows of love!

The most romantic song ever sung is on your knees with tears streaming down your face as you softly and tenderly sing to your heavenly lover in great adoration, with the deepest of feeling, "Nearer My God To Thee."
This is true romance...heavenly romance. It surpasses all other loves. All other loves pale by comparison.

Tears Will Never Stain the Streets of that City
By The Rambos
http://www.barb-coolwaters.com/h001/tearswillnever.html
(Hey, this is a build-up your faith song....To think He will wipe away ALL tears.)
If I could count all the tears that have fallen
It would seem like an ocean to me.
If my heart were a window you could look through
Oh the pain and scars you would see.
But tears will never stain the streets of that city
No wreath of death on my mansion door.
Teardrops aren't welcome beyond the gates of Glory
And the heart will never break anymore.
I've never met one man without sorrow
And I've never looked into eyes with no pain.
But I know a land where grief is a stranger
And joy is the only song they sing.
I have questioned the loss of a loved one
When the pain seems so final and cold.
But we'll meet again in a land where death has no victory
And we'll never grow old.
And tears will never stain the streets of that city
No wreath of death on my mansion door.
Teardrops aren't welcome beyond the gates of Glory
And the heart will never break anymore.
No, the heart will never break anymore.

The Love of God
Frederick M. Lehman, 1917
1. The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell;
It goes beyond the highest star,
And reaches to the lowest hell;
The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled,
And pardoned from his sin.
* Refrain:
Oh, love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure—
The saints’ and angels’ song.
2. When hoary time shall pass away,
And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall,
When men who here refuse to pray,
On rocks and hills and mountains call,
God’s love so sure, shall still endure,
All measureless and strong;
Redeeming grace to Adam’s race—
The saints’ and angels’ song.
3. Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.

I Need You More Today
As Performed By The Bishops
Verse I
There are decisions I can’t make on my own
And there are trials I must face all alone
But you said you’d walk with me
Down life’s troubled road
And you said come unto me
I’ll bear your heavy load
Chorus
I need you more today than I did yesterday
Mountains are higher, rivers are wider
I need you more today than I did yesterday
Help me remember I need you more today
Verse II
When I wake up in the morning
And I fear to face the day
Let me feel your gentle hand leading the way
Yesterday has come and gone
With those trials far behind
But I’m ever learning Lord
And everyday I find
Repeat chorus twice, then
Dear Lord remind me, I need you more today

"One more river to cross, one more mountain to climb, one more battle that I've got to go through, leavin all my troubles behind, one more battle with the devil and I know you'll understand. Im goin through with Jesus Hallelujah, holdin to his nail scared hands"
I've had a lot of troubles and trials in my little life's span
When I'm standing alone and the battle gets hot I always do the best I can
Must have crossed a million valleys and shed a millon tears
But when I come to the river of Jordan, hallelujah! then I'll have no fears
Then I'll have no fears
There's been a lot of people talking 'bout me since I walked this narrow way
this is just another little valley, came through it when I prayes
I've climed a lot of high mountains, crossed a lot of little streams
But when I see old Jordan cold an dark, that'll be the last for me
That'll be the last for me

I've had my sad times
And I've had hills to climb
Then come the bad times
Then a weary mind
But when I look about and weigh these things all out
All of the good things outweigh the bad things
I can't complain
My God is good to me
Oh, yes, He's good to me
More than this world to me
He's so good to me
His Spirit came to me
And gave me victory
My God is so good to me I can't complain
Sometimes the clouds hang low
I'd like to see them go
And sometimes I've questioned Oh, Lord tell me why so much pain
But He knows what's best for me although I cannot see
I can only say thank you Lord
You're so good to me

Now, somebody see if they can find "Nearer My God To Thee."
1. Nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
E'en though it be a cross that raiseth me,
still all my song shall be,
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
2. Though like the wanderer, the sun gone down,
darkness be over me, my rest a stone;
yet in my dreams I'd be
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
3. There let the way appear, steps unto heaven;
all that thou sendest me, in mercy given;
angels to beckon me
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
4. Then, with my waking thoughts bright with thy praise,
out of my stony griefs Bethel I'll raise;
so by my woes to be
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
5. Or if, on joyful wing cleaving the sky,
sun, moon, and stars forgot, upward I fly,
still all my song shall be,
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!

Redeemer
Verse 1
Who taught the sun where to stand in the morning?
And who told the ocean you can only come this far?
And who showed the moon where to hide 'til evening?
Whose words alone can catch a falling star?
Chorus
I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
Let all creation testify
Let this life within me cry
I know my Redeemer lives
Verse 2
The very same God who spins things in orbit
Runs to the weary the worn and the weak
And the same gentle hands that hold me when I'm broken
They conquered death to bring me victory
Chorus
Bridge
He lives to take away my shame
Oh, He lives, forever I'll proclaim
That the payment for my sin
Was the precious life He gave
But now He's alive and there's an empty grave
I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
Chorus
I know He lives
I walk with Him
I talked with this morning
The grave is empty
I know, I know my Redeemer lives

Praying in the Holy Ghost?
This reminds me of a song Sis. Joy Haney wrote and recorded
entitled "Pray In The Spirit"
When your heart is heavy, can't find your way,
Burdens on your shoulder, heavily lay.
Problems and situations seem to hide the light of day;
When you can't seem to make it,
Just take the time to pray.
Cho.
Pray in the Spirit, pray to the Lord,
Pray in the morning, let your soul soar,
Receive from the Master, all you long for,
For only in His Presence, there's fulness of joy.
When you need inspiration, things to turn out right.
Can't find the answer, life's one long night.
Pray though you're worry, but don't give up the fight,
Your battle's almost over, there's victory in sight.
Cho.
Pray in the Spirit, pray to the Lord,
Pray in the morning, let your soul soar.
Receive from the Master, all you long for.
For only in His Presence, there's fulness of joy.
"But ye beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy
faith, praying in the Holy Ghost". Jude 20

An old hymn that comes to mind and I love to sing throughout
the day, entitled "Humble Thyself To Walk With God". I love to
substitute "myself" and sing it from a personal standpoint. Humble
myself and the Lord will draw near me. Humble myself and His Presence
shall cheer me.
I.
If thou wouldst have the dear Savior from heaven
Walk by thy side from the morn till the even,
There is a rule that each day you must follow:
Humble thyself to walk with God.
Chorus:
Humble thyself and the Lord will draw near thee,
Humble thyself and His presence shall cheer thee;
He will not walk with the proud or the scornful,
Humble thyself to walk with God.
II.
Just as the Lord, in the world’s early ages,
Walked and communed with the prophets and sages,
He will come now if you meet the conditions:
Humble thyself to walk with God.
III.
Just as the stream finds a bed that is lowly,
So Jesus walks with the pure and the holy;
Cast out thy pride, and in heartfelt contrition
Humble thyself to walk with God.
You don't hear these old thought provoking hymns much
anymore. Maybe a thread entitled "Songs That Stir The Heart Up",
would be in order!

CHORUS
I am waiting for His whisper in the night
I'm depending on His word to give me light
I'm expecting a victory in this fight
I am listening for what God whispers in the night
REPEAT CHORUS
VS 1
In the midst of tribulation, seems the darkness has no end
When my light of faith is fragile like a candle in the wind
All alone 'tho I'm surrounded by my friends and family dear
It's Your strong voice that comforts me
Your voice that says "I'm near"..
CHORUS
VS 2
In your word I've found my hope
rest from my affliction
evidence of faithfulness, abiding love and grace
It is in this lonely midnight that I've found my greatest treasure
the assurance that You hear me and that you see me in this place...

God is able, God is able
God is able and He won't fail
Tell me who can make a mountain
Move out of my way
And who can make a miracle
Because of my faith
And when the doctor says no
Who can still say yes
And when I'm in trouble
Who's right there to help me pass every test
God is able, God is able
God is able and He won't fail
Tell me who can make a river
Out of a little stream
And who can tell the clouds
To roll back so that the sun can look at me
And who can tell the wind to whistle through the trees
And when I'm in trouble who is the same God
That will come down and rescue me
God is able, God is able
God is able and He won't fail
He won't fail
He won't fail
Don't you dare give up
Don't you dare give in
God wont fail
God is able,God is able
Tell you God is able and He won't
God won't, He won't fail

"I Know Too Much About Himl"
Smokie Norful
Verse 1:
You can’t tell me that the stars won’t come out at night,
no, you can’t tell me that the sun will refuse to shine.
There’s nothing you can say or do
that will destroy my peace of mind,
I’ve tried God for myself and He’s with me everytime.
You can’t tell me that the doctors have the final say,
no, you can’t tell me that the Lord won’t make a way.
There’s nothing you can say or do
that will take away my faith,
ever since I tried the Lord,
there’s been nothing that can take His place.
Chorus:
I know too much about Him,
and there’s nothing to make me doubt Him.
Just as sure as I have life,
you can’t change my mind,
you can’t tell me nothing,
I know God for myself.
Verse 2:
You can’t tell me that a baby doesn’t cry,
You can’t tell me that June isn’t before July.
There’s nothing you can say or do
that will change my reality,
ever since I tried the Lord, I know He’s always with me.
You can’t tell me that He won’t step in and rescue me,
You can’t tell me that He didn’t die to set me free.
Don’t try convincing me
that God isn't everything I need,
He’s faithful when others are not,
He’s a surest friend I’ve got.
Chorus
Bridge:
He’s proven Himself to be faithful unto me,
if I’d never had any trials,
who knows where I would be.
Chorus
Heaven for me...heaven for me
Jesus will be what makes it heaven for me
All it's beauty and wonder I'm longing to see
But Jesus will be what makes it heaven for me

Verse1:
What do you do
When you've done all you can
And it seems like it's never enough?
And what do you say when your friends turn away
And you're all alone?
Tell me, what do you give
When you've given your all and
Seems like you can't make it through?
Well, you just STAND
When there's nothing left to do
You just STAND
Watch the LORD see you through
Yes, after you've done all you can
You just STAND
Verse2:
Tell me, how do you handle
The guilt of your past?
Tell me, how do you deal with the shame?
And how can you smile while your heart has been
broken and filled with pain?
Tell me, what do give when you've given all
Seems like you can't make it through?
You just STAND
When there's nothing left to do
You just STAND
Watch the LORD see you through
Yes, after you've done all you can
You just STAND
Bridge:
"STAND" And be sure
Be not entangled in that bondage again
You just STAND
"STAND" and endure
GOD has a purpose, yes, GOD HAS A PLAN
(Tell me, what do give when you've given all
Seems like you can't make it through?)
Stand, Stand, Stand
(You Just)
Hold on
(Stand)
Just be strong
(Stand)
GOD will step in
(Stand)
It Won't be long
(Stand)
Don't you bow, Don't you bend
Don't you break, You can win
After you've done all you can
You just STAND!

One of my favorites is Casting Crown's "If We are the Body." The lyrics in this song are powerful and compelling.
"If We Are The Body"
It's crowded in worship today
As she slips in trying to fade into the faces
The girl's teasing laughter is carrying farther than they know
Farther than they know
But if we are the body
Why aren't His arms reaching?
Why aren't His hands healing?
Why aren't His words teaching?
And if we are the body
Why aren't His feet going?
Why is His love not showing them there is a way?
There is a way
A traveler is far away from home
He sheds his coat and quietly sinks into the back row
The weight of their judgemental glances
Tells him that his chances are better out on the road
Jesus payed much too high a price
For us to pick and choose who should come
And we are the body of Christ
Jesus is the way

Bro. Strange,

Because He Lives
God gave His son, they called Him Jesus
He came to love, heal, and forgive.
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, All fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living just because He lives.
How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives.
But greater still the calm assurance,
This child can face uncertain days because He lives.
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, All fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living just because He lives.
And then one day I'll cross the river,
I'll fight life's final war with pain.
And then as death gives way to victory,
I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives.
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, All fear is gone!
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living just because He lives!

They are indeed Words of Life that inspire, build and give a blessed assurance of His presence. These old songs are so spiritually romantic involving a heavenly lover, all expressed in a poetic flair that unveils the spiritual refinement of the writer. It is much different than the modern day vulgarity found in the romp, stomp and chant.
Sing them o'er again to me wonderful words of life.... I have a minister friend spending a few days with me after closing out a recent revival. He is also a musician. While discussing the musical vulgarity of today's worship music, he told me that some time back, he refused to play that sort of music in a certain worship service. He polititely declined without being offensive or even letting anyone know why he was declining.
But, it seems that today's generation has become so embused with the musical taste of Ghanghis Kahn that the musical poetic prose of angelic expression is unknown, or unrecognizable to them. Meanwhile, the chant and the romp stomp continues. The blood of Jesus is systematically, though gradually being eliminated...and that, by an infernal design.

My Keeper
(Verse 1)
So many times I felt someone was watching over me, for there was too much
Unexplained.
Like the day we were swimming, I jumped in the swelling river; the current quickly carried me away.
I could feel my heart racing as the grave of muddy water would seal my doom and
And claim another life.
Like a hand from out of nowhere I was lifted toward the sunlight, with just one breath I knew that I'd survive.
(Chorus)
Now I Know my keeper, I call him by his name.
He brought me through much danger and spared me so much pain.
He knew some day I'd see him, he was never far away.
Know I know my keeper, I talk to him each day.
(Bridge)
I faced another river this one oh so vast.
Millions there were helpless, drowning by their past.
Satan vowed that he would claim my sinful soul one day.
But all at once a nail scared hand reached down and I was saved.

The Lighthouse
1.
There's a lighthouse on the hillside
That overlooks life's sea
When I'm tossed oh it sends out a light
A light that I might see
And the light that shines in darkness now
Will safely lead me home
If it were not for that lighthouse
My ship would sail no more
Cho.
And I thank God for the lighthouse
I owe my life to Him
For Jesus is the lighthouse
And from the rocks of sin
He has shown a light around me
That I might plainly see
If it were not for the ligthouse
Tell me where would this ship be
2.
Most everybody that lives around us
Say tear that ole lighthouse down
For the big ships don't sail this way anymore
There's no use of it hanging around
Then my mind goes back to that stormy nght
When just in time I saw that light
Was that light from that old lighthouse
That stands up there on the hill

Sweet Hour of Prayer
William W. Walford, 1845
1. Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief,
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare,
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!
2. Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
The joys I feel, the bliss I share,
Of those whose anxious spirits burn
With strong desires for thy return!
With such I hasten to the place
Where God my Savior shows His face,
And gladly take my station there,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!
3. Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
Thy wings shall my petition bear
To Him whose truth and faithfulness
Engage the waiting soul to bless.
And since He bids me seek His face,
Believe His Word and trust His grace,
I’ll cast on Him my every care,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!
4. Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
May I thy consolation share,
Till, from Mount Pisgah’s lofty height,
I view my home and take my flight.
This robe of flesh I’ll drop, and rise
To seize the everlasting prize,
And shout, while passing through the air,
“Farewell, farewell, sweet hour of prayer!”

Thank You Lord, For your Blessings on Me
Written by: The Easter Brothers
Verse I
As the world looks upon me, as I struggle along
They say I have nothing, but they are so wrong
In my heart I’m rejoicing, how I wish they could see
Thank you Lord, for your blessings on me
Chorus
There’s a roof up above me
I’ve a good place to sleep
There’s food on my table
And shoes on my feet
You gave me your love Lord
And a fine family
Thank you Lord, for your blessings on me
Verse II
Now I know I’m not wealthy, and these clothes , they’re not new
I don’t have much money, but Lord I have you
And to me that’s all that matters, though the world cannot see
Thank you Lord, for your blessings on me
Repeat Chorus, then:
Thank you Lord, for your blessings on me

When God Ran
Almighty God, the great I am
Immovable rock, omnipotent, powerful, awesome Lord
Victorious warrior, commanding King of Kings
Mighty conqueror, and the only time
The only time I ever saw Him run
CHORUS:
Was when He ran to me, He took me in His arms
Held my head to His chest, said "My son's come home again"
Lifted my face, wiped the tears from my eyes
With forgiveness in His voice He said,
"Son do you know I still love you?"
He caught me by surprise when God ran
The day I left home I knew I'd broken His heart
And I wondered then if things could ever be the same
Then one night I remembered His love for me
And down that dusty road ahead I could see
It was the only time - it was the only time I ever saw Him run
And then He ran to me, He took me in His arms
Held my head to His chest, said "My son's come home again"
Lifted my face, wiped the tears from my eyes
With forgiveness in His voice He said,
"Son do you know I still love you?"
He caught me by surprise as He brought me to my knees
When God ran - I saw Him run to me
BRIDGE:
I was so ashamed, all alone and so far away
But now I know He's been waiting for this day
I saw Him run to me, He took me in His arms
Held my head to His chest, said "My son's come home again"
Lifted my face, wiped the tears from my eyes
With forgiveness in His voice I felt His love for me again
He ran to me, He took me in His arms
Held my head to His chest, said "My son's come home again"
Lifted my face, wiped the tears from my eyes
With forgiveness in His voice He said, "Son", He called me Son
He said, "Son do you know I still love you?"

Bro. jwHarv,
Beautiful picture of a loving, compassinate father, who regardless
of how far away His son has been, loves him with that incredible
love that only a true father would understand. My late pastor father
used to brake out singing an old chorus when he would be teaching
a Bible study, especially on the love of God, and he would get inspired
and start singing:
O Love beyong human expression,
Compassion so boundless and free.
JESUS showed His great wealth of affection,
When His body was broken for me.
It makes me want to sing, O the Blood of Jesus,
O, the Blood of Jesus. O, the Blood of Jesus,
That washes white as snow.

Here is an old song that's been on my mind the past couple of days.
It's So Beautiful
1.
Some may wonder where the beauty lies
In the name I love so dear
Well, it's not in the way that it sounds
As it falls on my ear
And it's not in the way that it looks
When it's written beautifully
But the beauty in that lovely Name
Is in the power it gives to me
Chol
It's so beautiful the Name of Jesus
It's so beautiful that precious Name
When you ask in Jesus' Name
Anything is yours just to claim
And I love that beautiful Name
2.
At the sound of that Name
Every demon has to flee
For it's in that Name all power is given
To set the helpless captive free
Every sin disease and sickness
Must bow down to that name
And forevermore surrender
For all of time I must proclaim

I haven't looked at this thread but I don't think this song has been posted yet.
It's written by Tommy Walker and the lyrics and melody is so beautiful! It's one of my favourite songs and the words are wonderful.
Thank You For Loving Me
Verse 1:
What love the Father has lavished on us
That we should be called His sons and daughters
Precious in His sight
Greater love this world had never seen
When He hung on that tree
O why would He do such a thing
For dirty sinners like you and me?
Chorus:
O God thank You for loving me
When on the cross You made history
Lord You died for me
Forever my praise will go to Thee
O God thank You for choosing me
To be Your child and bear Your name
O Jesus I will never cease to sing Your praise
Verse 2:
Your love is patient and humble and kind
It's greater than all my sin
It always protects and trusts and hopes
And will have no end
It's Your love that lifted me up from the depths
Set my feet on a solid rock
With a firm place to stand
Lord I always will trust in Your loving hand
Bridge:
How wide how long
How high how deep
How endless is Your love for me
How wide how long
How high how deep
How endless is Your love for me

It was pretty quiet here until about an hour ago and now we're swamped.
(I'm on lunch break) My goal is to upsell at least $4 with each customer. Yesterday, I managed to upsell $200.00+ which is pretty darn good! :D
They have a beautiful Steinway piano just one door down from us - Tom Lee Music. Ever hear tell of them? The piano's supposed to be handmade.

All Steinways are hand made! There are 56 dealers of Steinways in North American. He may be the dealer for your area. Maybe the Steinway is a used one! Usually the Steinway dealers are the largest piano store in the area!

When I walked into the piano showroom there were several Steinways on display but one had the "handmade" sign on it so I thought it was special from the rest in that regard. They are so beautiful. After you've played a grand piano you're spoiled. Nothing else is quite the same. :)

Back on topic ...... this song was on my mind a lot this afternoon ....
What A Faithful God
1. Lord, I come before Your throne of grace
I find rest in Your presence,
And fullness of Joy
In worship and wonder,
I behold Your face
Singing what a faithful God have I
Chorus:
What a faithful God have I
What a faithful God
What a faithful God have I
Faithful in every way
2. Lord of mercy, You have heard my cry
Through the storm You're the beacon
My song in the night
In the shelter of Your wings
Hear my heart's reply,
Singing what a faithful God have I
3. Lord, all sovereign
Granting peace from heaven
Let me comfort those who suffer
With the comfort You have given
I will tell of Your great love
For as long as I live
Singing what a faithful God have I

I Need You More
I need you more
More than yesterday
I need you more
More than words can say
I need you more
than ever before
I need you Lord
I need you Lord
I really communicates how I feel in my heart right now.
We'll probably sing this song at some point in the services today, wacha ya wanna bet.

Praise the Lord
When you're up against a struggle that shatters all your dreams
And your hopes have been cruelly crushed by Satan's manifested schemes
And you feel the urge within you to submit to earthly fears
Don't let the faith your standing in seem to disappear
(Chorus)
Praise the Lord -- He will work for those who praise Him
Praise the Lord -- for our God inhabits praise
Praise the Lord -- for those chains that seem to bind you
Serve only to remind you
That they dropped powerless behind you
When you praise Him
Now Satan is a liar and he wants to make us think
That we are paupers, but he knows himself we're children of the King
So lift up the mighty shield of faith, for the battle must be won
We know that Jesus Christ is risen, so the work's already done
(Chorus)
...for those chains that seem to bind you
Serve only to remind you
That they dropped powerless behind you
When you praise Him, praise Him
Praise Him, when you praise Him
When you praise Him
When you praise
The Lord

Here We Are
By Dallas Holm
Here we are in your presence
Lifting holy hands to You
Here we are praising Jesus
For the things He's brought us through.
I don't have the words to tell You how I feel,
I just don't know what I can say
I'm not worthy to speak Your Holy Name,
Yet You tell me You love me just the same.
Here we are in Your presence
Lifting holy hands to You
Here we are praising Jesus
For the things He's brought us through.
I never thought that it could be this way,
And I never thought I'd be the one,
But You found me dying in my sin.
And You looked at me with love that took me in.
Here we are in Your presence
Lifting holy hands to You
Here we are praising Jesus
For the things He's brought us through.
For the things He's brought us through.
