View Full Version : I Would Pay To Meet ....
I would pay to meet the following 5 AFF posters.
1. OP Carl - Who is this con dude? Perhaps one the most brilliant minds on the forum. He's got to be someone of repute.
2 Pelathais - Who is this lib dude? Just as intelligent as OPC. He's got my attention.
3. Elder Strange - I've offered to treat this fella to dinner ... and he still hasn't taken my up on my offer.
4. RGCraig - none sweeter.
5. DeaconBlues - Dude is funnier and cooler than me.

That's just all messed up - - - I was meeting MOW's brother and my knee was bad and I couldn't wear the red high heels, so the wheelchair was added to assist so that I could still wear the the red heels.
I think NLYP convoluted the story by quoting it all wrong and introducing the sleeping bad. He was just upset that it was breaking news and he was the last to know!!!

You may be kidding, but when I am talking to folks back home, or when I slip and lapse back into the old Ozark vernacular, I use the word "clumb" as a past participle of climb.
I also tell my kids, "You'uns get to bed," and lots of other things some of the more cultured among us would chuckle about.

You are a great "friend" to me. Seems our interaction is mostly behind the scenes. I appreciate you and would love to meet you someday. Hey, technically you are the first person that I told that I went back "home". :)
love ya doc,
Thanks, and right back at ya!

love ya doc,
Sorry, Berk, failed to address this question. I am not above the Apostle Paul...whose first name is sufficient for us.
I am privileged to have you call me Brett. While it has been the UPC custom to use the old Bro. "Last Name," I often dearly wish to be referred to as Bro. Brett, or just Brett.

Cool! :thumbsup If I ever enter into the ministry, I would prefer to be called by my first name, whatever it is at that time. LoL
I don't like Bro. "last name" It's too formal and impersonal.

I would somehow never have put Falla and Crakjac as being in the same family... learn something new every day!
Bro. Steadfast,
You should meet the other nine! When we eleven siblings get together
at our Annual Blakey Family Reunion each Memorial Day in memory of our
late parents. There were over 110 present this year, most of which were
we eleven, our children and grandchildren. Our parents who married in
1937, have direct descendants of almost 100 now. That is Mom and Dad,
their eleven children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and there are
two great-great grandchildren. From two mothers, our maternal and our
paternal grandmother, came a son and a daughter. These two mothers
both received the Holy Ghost in the mid 30's, and their two children also
received it during that time. Those two young people, children of the
Great Depression, married and brought up their children in the fear and
admonition of the Lord. They "trained up their children in the way they
should go". There is a promise attached to that scripture. Regardless of
how it may seem, not any of us knows what we will go through before
our end comes. We have had "hard trials" of different kinds. Many would
have perhaps fallen by the wayside long ago. We could tell you a few.
In reading the 11th chapter of Hebrews, those people of faith went
through many trials and tests. We saw faith lived out in our home for
over 50 yrs. On our Dad's deathbed, he was heard to say while seemingly
"out of it", "They are everyone going to make it". Dad and Mom invested
everything they had and were into their eleven children and in a work that
still stands today and is church home to twenty something of my own
children and grandchildren.
When we eleven siblings get together for our reunions, we are a force
to be reckoned with. There is so much love one to another and although
we are individuals and don't agree on everything (does anyone), we have
respect and love for each other and each other's families. We have shown
and continue to show our children and grandchildren how to love one
another and respect each other. We don't argue and fuss with each other.
We are all adults on a journey. If two are better than one, what can eleven
or nearly an hundred do. As we travel on this journey we can help each
other make it. The elder John said if we say we love God and hate our
brother, we are a liar. How can we say we love God who we have not seen
when we don't love our brother/sister who we have seen.
Bro. Steadfast, Brother, this is not anything toward what you said about
not putting Crakjak and me together. God did that a long time ago! As well
as the other nine! I am, in an older sister way, proud of each of my siblings.
I know them. I love them. We are going to meet Mom and Dad together,
and a host of others who greatly influenced us as youngsters. We eleven
know who they are. Made a difference in our young lives and later also.
We have been and continue to be SO blessed. You talk about prayer
support. When one of us gets ill or has a life-threatening situation, we
all, with our families, lift each other up in loving, heartfelt prayer. And
then there's the "effectual fervent (red-hot) prayers of a righteous man
and woman, who we called our parents, still availing much!!:happydance
Don't mess with one of we siblings or you'll have the whole pack on
ya!:killinme:killinme:killinme

you too!

Thanks Stephen. Large families are great and a blessing of the Lord.
Unfortunately in today's culture of the "fearful and unbelieving" large families are no longer look at with respect. But that is not the attitude of our God, who is a God of life, and He has placed in the earth all the resources required for man's existence. Conservation is necessary, yet not to the determent of man.
Growing up in a large family requires selflessness and giving, very little place for self-centeredness.

Oh, not to mention the bargain priced real estate! In March when I was in LA and Anaheim I checked the Orange County Register's Sunday real estate section and my house is a million dollar plus house in Orange County.
When our ship docks in San Pedro from Hawaii on Saturday Feb 9th I am picking up a rental car to have that day and until we leave the next day. Depending on if my son is living there or in 29 Palms as he is suppoed to be and what he has planned perhaps we could meet up for lunch or coffee then.

Back in the mid 80's on my first trip to LA I was alone and got lost in my rental car going from the airport. I ended up on Crendshaw and after awhile was the only white person I could see for miles!

Sherri - I like the way she thinks :)
Tamor - I think we'd have a great time. We could find us a great place to eat out at.
LadyRev - cuz if HeavenlyOne thinks she's such a great person, then I'm sure I would too
Bishop1 - so I could tell Sis Well who he really is.

I'm going to tattle on myself.
I was at work Friday night and something happened that's never happened to me before.
I got hit on.
Yes, that's what I said.
See, I'm a good nurse supervisor and supply my girls with all kinds of chocolates so they'll work better....LOL.....so I had several kinds of candy including Hershey kisses on the desk. I was writing up doctor orders when an older woman, older man, and middle aged man comes in the door.
They asked about a cart for some items she'd brought for her sister, who is a resident. I asked the other nurse about it and she left to get them what they needed. I continued writing the order when the middle aged guy comes to the desk and says, "Here, have a kiss," as he places a Hershey kiss closer to me.
Trying hard not to turn red (it comes so easy for me, as I embarrass over anything), I commented that I say that to the residents I hand them to, and resumed writing. The older man then came over and said, "Well, then I'll do that too...here, have a kiss," as he also places a Hershey kiss closer to me.
Ok, that did it. My face was still red when I told the other nurse what happened and she was dying!
Nothing like getting hit on by an old man at the nursing home!!!

Sheesh...forgot to mention that I've also met BreakingFree and DividedThigh (although meeting him wasn't actually a meeting, but a glance at him during campmeeting).
I also met Webmaster and Sis. Jill.
I have also talked to BOOM on the phone.
My memory.....getting worse!
Hey, give me credit here.
At least I traveled 9 hours to come see you!!! I believe I did pay!!!!
:D
Well, truth be known, you didn't travel 9 hours to see ME...that was just the added blessing!! :killinme

One question; Is Divided Thigh wheelchair bound? If not, how does he get around like that?

LOL!
I found out his identity when asking him about his name. I still have mental images I'd like to forget! LOL!

Well, honest to goodness...Ho, Subby and Newman really should have had to pay to meet ME!! Amen...I say this in all humility...
I am one of the nicest people they know...if not THE nicest!!
Charming and intelligent, not to mention cute AND sweet...mercy sakes, what it 'joy' it was for them to be in my presence!! I was so thrilled that they had the opportunity and I know it was the highlight of their little lives...greatness doesn't come along everyday!!
Can't hardly wait for them to see this...:hypercoffee

Well I want to know who has been filling you full of hoey about that Phil Jones fella being an, how did you put it, amazing preacher?
Have you actually heard that yahoo preach?:killinme:roseglasses
Thy modesty becometh thee, my friend. :D
Yes, I've heard you preach....just once, and it was more instruction, per se, than preaching....but POWERful, nonetheless. Anointing makes an impression more than exegeses or superfluity, and the Holy Ghost abounded that morning.
That being said.....all semblance of dignity flew out the window when you, IAM, and NLYP began "posing" for pictures afterwards. :killinme

Texas Proud,
I am sure I met you that day but I can't place you right now.
I thought maybe you were Bro. or Sis. S-----, as they were there
that day also. However I thought you sounded a bit younger than
what they would have been. They came with your grandparents
that day, I believe. I attended your grandmother's funeral. Beautiful
service. Big-Larry sang a beautiful song, in fact, more than one. He
has always been gifted with a great voice for singing.
My older brother and wife are in N. Carolina for a couple of weeks
and when they return we are planning on visiting them and go to
church with them. I have never been to a service at that church.
Just hasn't worked out, although I have wanted to for a long time.
Blessings,
Falla39
Thank you for those kind words about the service. Nanna loved to hear Bro Larry sing...I think he was her favorite! My mother mentioned the other day that your kinfolks would be in NC for a while. I know they will all be thrilled to have you and your husband in service when you visit.
