I enjoy all types of Music, but I think that the old Southern Gospel style has been taken over by the new movement of Southern Style. Like The Martins, The Crabb Family, The Gaither Vocal Band, Phillip-Craig-Dean.
I like to watch the Gaither Homecomings and hear the different styles, but I do prefer the newer style.

I like most music, but southen gospel, traditional or progressive, is my favorite. The Dove Bros. are pretty traditional, while Crossway is progressive bordering on country. Three Bridges are hard to label and they have said openly that they do not want to be labeled. All of them put on entertaining concerts. I really like the Crabb Family and hated that they are going in different directions instead of one group.

Do you listen to a online station?

I have been streaming The Gospel Hiway from Houston, TX for over 2 yrs. I also listen to a station from somewhere in West Virginia.

BTW, Sorry that I started up the Sept. 07 so gos thread. If I had lurked a little longer, I would have found my answer in the Feb 07 thread.Apparently, among Apostolics, Southern Gospel music lovers are in the minority. That's o.k. Among my family members ranging from 4 yrs old to 80 plus, it is always #1!!!!! As the saying goes, "different strokes for different folks". I like it like that.

I think most of the people who are coming in this forum aren't Southern Gospel lovers...

I love southern gospel....my absolute favorite group of all time was/is.....The (original) Hinsons.....really like the Crabb family.....a couple of sisters out of Mississippi named the McRaes are awesom.....I adore harmony......and it just always sounds especially good with family members.

you might want to check out www.sogospelnews.com - lots of SG music lovers there with lots of discussions

I like SG as well as most any other gospel music. I don't like rap or hard rock. I even enjoy Bluegrass!

I know Judy personally as she is from the West TN area. A sweet lady. She does a little bit more country Gospel than southern.
