Does anyone know if there is a good mod to lib church within 20 minutes or so of Dublin, CA? My brother and sister-in-law moved an hour away from their old church and it has affected their church attendence for mid-week services. Their current pastor is retiring, and they feel like it would be a good time to visit and prayerfully consider a church closer to where they now live.
They currently attend a UPC church, but would probably visit and consider independent or other oneness orgs. as well.
Thanks in advance for any info that you can provide!

I think the closest would either be, The Pentecostals of Pleasanton (Pastor Terry Baughman) or Crossroads Church in Livermore (Pastor Stuart Young).

Thanks! Have you ever been to either of these churches? Can you give me any feedback? If you've been to both, what would you consider to be the differences between the two (if any)?

I haven't been to either church, but know both of the pastors (and their wives). Bro. Baughman is on staff at Christian Life College and his wife is Gayla (formerly Gayla Bibb of the "Singing Bibb Family"). Stuart and Darla Young just start the church there in Livermore a couple of years ago (Home Missions). They were helping the Baughmans at first. Both churches are somewhat connected to Stockton (CLC). I'm not sure what your dividing line is when you say "moderate" to "liberal"..... so I can't really answer that. Neither one would be considered ultra conservative.

Both Pastors are educated and would be considered safe and middle of the road. I would recommend either.

The Boughmans in Pleasanton are good folks too...
Here is Stuart Youngs Church

Both are good churches pastored by good people.
Stuart & Darla are Home Missions status. If your brother and sil are interested in ministry in any capacity, I'm certain that Livermore would be an excellent opportunity for them to get involved in this smaller, but growing church.
