I'm pretty sure the rate of death on earth isn't quite that high... (there are, afterall only 7.5 billion on earth)

and if he's saying that the tribulation and such is gonna start in the next 12 months... well... he needs to learn from the people who have been saying that at various points over the last 250 years and realize all that kind of thing does is make people laugh at you...

Either way it would mean something big for this to happen.

About 56-57 million people die per year worldwide.

2 billion people is nearing 20 times the annual rate of death.

This (https://secure.endtime.com/apstore/product.asp?ProdID=79418) might be where that info is coming from. One would have to pay the price plus shipping & handling to see if the "within 12 months" portion is on there.

Yeah, its overestimated... In the US, the annual death rate is 8.2 persons per thousand residents, which figures out to around 2.5 million per year in the United States. (But that's still a lot of people.....)

Well what he is saying in the video is that the Bible predicts that in World War III 1/3 of the earth will be killed (which runs out to about 2 Billion)

I do not believe that his interpretations of these writings are true to what the words given John were out to say... although I do feel that there will be a time of mass death and major world wide financial collapse sometime in our future

I remember him preaching so hard against television at our Church that it would curl your hair.

This is a sad thing to me.

Sad! How? Pretty sad that folks are just now doing things that should have been done 30 years ago.

I took a pool in my office a year or so ago.

I was very serious and I asked some 75 people several questions.

I asked them the question:

Do you know what Pentecostal church's believe or follow?

Out of 75 only 1 knew anything about Pentecostals.

I aked him if he ever heard of the United Pentecostal Church or Oneness doctrine.

He told me he had never heard of it.

Wanted to know if it was a new revelation.

So the "Church" as some relate the UPC mean's the "Church".

Has not even reached 1 person in a 75 person office in Milwaukee.

Those I had talked to in my interactions about church, I did not ask them the question. They number about 10. As I had talked to them about church one-on-one.

I think we need a bigger audience.

Since most folks sitting in the pews in Pentecostal churches never bring anyone to their church during their religious career's.

In 2007 many UPC ministers are still believing God for 300 strong in attendance in their churchs.

If just 10% of the USA attended a UPC church today.

Population 301,139,947 (July 2007 est.) United States.

There would need to be 100,000 UPC Churches in the US with 300 members.

If you took that number to 3 million it would still mean 10,000 churches.

The message needs a bigger audience.

Today the UPC has about 500,000 members in the USA and some 3700 churches.

Average attendance then is 135 per church.

So you can see why the men in the organization have only the faith for 300 members.

He believes this - he will not say this is fact.

Here is an estimate of people who have lived on earth.

If one divides by 25 as an estimate of average lifespan, one estimates that 96,100,000,000 people have lived on the earth.

this came from a calculation from the following website:

http://www.math.hawaii.edu/~ramsey/People.html

Since Azuza street revival is estimated some 8 Billion plus folks have lived and died.

So yes the soul ticker is constantly ticking....

IF UPC IS RIGHT!!

Why wouldnt they want the world to know? is it because they maybe debated by true biblical scholars?
I thinkn they will be so shouted down by major ministries, they need to be ready to be rebuked for not having biblical proof of their belief.
Its going to be interesting, I cant wait. while were on the road I am sure we will hear about it when it happens.
you watch, whoever gos on their UPC doctrine will be watered down.

Which is par for the course so when it doesn't come to pass it's a non-issue just like all of his other prophecies.

This is an unfair statement. Irvin Baxter doesn't "prophesy." He tries to interpret and understand existing prophecies in the Bible. BIG difference. I don't agree with all his stuff either, but he's just a regular guy trying to understand scripture that most of us won't even tackle. I can't really fault him for that.

I'm sure he places qualifiers like "possibly" on purpose, because he knows they're just his own interpretations, and could "possibly" be wrong. :shifty

Like I said, I don't get into his stuff at all, or agree with it, BUT I'm not going to call someone a false prophet when they haven't even prophesied anything. That's just silly. But it appears you like finding fault with him so enjoy!

IB hsa long held the idea that a war is coming that will end in the deaths of around 2 billion people. he has pointed to several differnt hot spots that could possibly be the spark.

One is the issue of Tiwan, another is the issues that exist between Pakistan and India (2 nations that hate each other and have nuclear bombs).

Another would be the current world situation involving Islamic terror and America's roll.

He has never prophisied anything, he has pointed out his understanding of endtime events based on how he reads the bible.

Some of his ideas are solid, others seem less so. The idea that 12 months is being brought up is not new either. Eventually something big and very bad will happen. History tells us that.

What a sad thing to go to some apostolic's funeral - all his co-workers attend, and none have any clue as to what he experienced in God. No clue as to the very name of his assembly. They all ask: "He went to church???"

No television program is going to affect those 75 souls like you can.

the point he makes is that IN HIS OFFICE where he works most people have never heard of us...

What about the thousands upon thousands of offices that don't have an Apostolic Pentecostal working in them???

Simply put, we haven't "turned the world upside down", we've barely affected it. Thank God for the souls that we've reached, but most people don't know we exist...

Your dad was talking to a few men at hand that knew him but Bro. Baxter is talking to thousands at one time that take his word as absolute truth. What is going to happen if in 12 to 18 months if we are still here on AF talking about the next possibility that he comes up with? All those people that have heard his future possibilities will once again hear another "possibility" and throw them into a frenzy when what they need to do is to read the other book that is related to the book of Revelation.:coffee2

The Lord is not returning until His work of evangelism is accomplished in the world and it won't be through tv. Oops I think this statement is in the wrong thread.

I agree with this completely! The church my husband was raised in are so completely sold out to Baxter that they take his word as "Gospel".

If the 75 in your office has not heard about Jesus Name Pentecost,
You are the one falling down on the job, not the UPC.
That is your world - go win it!

What a sad thing to go to some apostolic's funeral - all his co-workers attend, and none have any clue as to what he experienced in God. No clue as to the very name of his assembly. They all ask: "He went to church???"

No television program is going to affect those 75 souls like you can.
Light your world and quit expecting the UPC to do it for you.

This seems the prevalent problem of pentecost today: "Somebody needs to win the world, but not me".

Joseph

Sad!

The sobering fact is that you worked at a place that had at least 75 people, and you had not shined your light to them enough for them to know what Pentecost was.

you know, I'm no bible scholar, but I understand the scripture to say that we as Christians have one purpose...to reach the lost.

How do we reach them? By teaching, by being an example...the whole SALT and LIGHT analogies.....These instructions were for individual Christians, not the commission of a few mega ministers.

and what or who is the whole world? Everyone we come in contact with. Our jobs, our schools, our FAMILIES..our friends....No one is going to reach them but US.

It's not about standards, it not about TV, it's not about denominations. HE said for us to just DO it..and if we make an attempt to DO it, He'll use a willing vessel and do the work for us...Like Noah complained that he was basically speech impaired, I think God got a little upset at him when he reminded him that HE would help him....All we have to do is be a light and the opportunity presents itself.

If the opportunity isnt presenting itself, then we might need to get our bulbs changed.

One person at a time. And they are MY responsibility. No ad on TV is going to get my boss in the altar....and I don't care if it's UPC or not, just get them saved where there is TRUTH

it's not Hazelwoods fault or responsibility to reach my co-workers...

I listen to IB's program "Politics and Religion" almost every day.

He is emphatic about saying that a war IS coming, which originates from the Euphrates River, which will kill one third of mankind. Ninety percent of that river is in Iraq. Two billion is a little short since there are now seven billion people living on the Earth.

He is not emphatic about when it will happen. He says he believes that the present Iraq war will escalate into WW3, before George W Bush leaves office, and will result in the fulfillment of Rev. 9:14-15.

He did correctly predict that the Berlin Wall would fall, eight years before it happened. He wrote it in his book, and even sent a letter to the President about it.

Some of you are so biased against everything he says, that you think nothing of twisting his words or making derogatory statements about what he supposedly said, when you know nothing about what he really said. I call that lying, no matter how you twist it.

It's very impressive considering that it happened at a time that it seemed impossible. At the time of the prophecy the old regime in the Soviet Union where intent on making America glow for centuries.

Also that the country had become one again only after a short amount of time of one (if not the most) of the most horrendous crimes against humanity. I'm still a little bit in awe that Germany is a whole country again. I surely didn't think it would happen again.

It's even amazing that it was done in such a peaceable fashion. All those other countries that had their fingers in the cookie jar, just gave up their stake in Germany. It was a God thing and He told us so in the bible. Irvin Baxter is the one who saw it first.

America and England had a better chance of becoming one again than Germany did at the time.

if its part of the 4 beasts thing, then it was something that didn't have an end-date to it (which is not impressive at all, most things that split "east/west" will eventually reunite... I'm sure one day North & South Korea will be one united "Korea", too... it might take forever, but I'm sure, if given enough time, it'll happen)

$30K for carpet? Is it really that much??? Wow...what's next? Gold faucets and an air conditioned dog house? :killinme

If the building is very big that really is not a huge sum of meney for good carpet.

My church's last building program was budgeted at fifteen million dollars and ended up being over seventeen million dollars. I can't even imagine portion of that went for carpeting but I know it wasn't cheap.

Bro. Baxter is one who will def admit if he was wrong about something. And since we are close to him and his family I know of a few things that he has said he must have been wrong about in regards to some "standards" - nothing major of course just a few little ones but I think it shows good character to be able to say "hey, I was wrong" and to change your thinking. When someone stays stuck on something just because they have too much pride to admit they were wrong then it just makes them look retarded.

He stdies the Bible IN DEPTH, and while studying he felt like this is what he was reading and it indeed was!! I truly believe that God has given him a "gift of understanding" - he is able to read and understand (after studying) the Bible Prophecies.

you realize that that is what "Prophecy" is, right?

Prophecy is NOT just pulling stuff out of air and predicting things, prophecy is also being given a gift to "interpret 'oracles'" (ancient information (READ: THE BIBLE))

If he was "given a give to read and understand prophetic writings in the Bible" he was given the gift of prophecy...

Yeah well, he doesn't claim to be one. IMO, he is - but he doesn't profess to be and would never say he was. I think he is just awesome myself. I have never really followed his prophecy teachings really closely even though I was under him for 23 years lol...I even worked for Endtime for quite a few years but I just love him and his family personally! They are some of the greatest people you could ever meet! I loved having him as my pastor and his family along with him.

Here are my Prophecies for the day:
I prophesy that somebody is gonna be right and somebody is gonna be wrong.
Somebody is gonna die.
Some lady is gonna have a boy - or a girl.
The Sun is coming up in the morning.
Jesus is Coming Soon - maybe morning, night or noon.
People that are on TV - watch TV to see themselves - that is why they are on!

claiming to be a prophet isn't a requirement to being one...

and by claiming to be being "shown" what the things in the prophecies of the Bible mean, he is claiming to be a prophet, whether he wants to admit that or not is irrelevant...

That is the biggest nonesense I have read in a while!

Having understanding of the Word does NOT make you a prophet!

THe Bible does the prophecying - he is just bringing it to everyone's attention.

How many of you truly study the Bible in depth?
