Thad, I think this is possibly going to be her greatest project. The music is a little more modern...however, coupled with her priceless voice...it still rings of old-time gospel...You can definately see Kurt's touch on this project....I think people are going to be GLAD they purchased this.

You have got to go searching!!! Call ahead and have them reserve it for you. You HAVE to pick it up! Listen to #4 on your way home...see if you can drive right. The Holy Ghost will just take over.

One of the girls at work was listening to that song at her desk..."I Never Lost My Praise"...and you could hear her just go..."Thank you Jesus...Ohhhhh.....Hallelujah!" She had tears coming down her face and had to come in my office to compose herself.

A little Off Topic...

At a few Youth trips or retreats...back in those good old 80's....I would wake my fellow bunkmates up by blastin on my boombox...

TH singing....

(in a Robot Voice...)

Wake up it's morning Time, time , time...........

Then she would start singing...

Wake up, singing, Hallelujah! In the morning time (In the morning time...)

I looked forward to those ocassions...just so I could wake people up by playing that song! I'm easily amused! What a great cassette that was!

NO NO NO NO!!!!
Tramaine and Walter were married ! Edwin and walter are Brothers. Edwin and Tramaine were Close
and like brother and sister. That's why they refer to each other as such.

All of them Grew up at Tramaine's Grandfather's church Old Ephesians Church of God in Christ, in Berkeley,CA a suburb of Oakland.
Tramaine's grandfather. the Late Bishop E.E Cleveland was the Bishop over the entire bay area and had a HUGE church. Edwin, walter and their other Brother Daniel ran the music there. That's the church that "O happy Day and Love alive I was birthed out of.
we use to go to Old Ephesians to their late night musicals. when "Dad Cleveland passed, the church went to nothingness. he pastored till he died at age 94.
walter and tramaine started their own church "love center". later tramaine divoriced him. walter still pastors Love center

Tramaine first sang with Andrae' Crouch in the early 60s. When Edwin Hawkins recorded 'O Happy Day' in 67 or 68, she was still Tramaine Davis...I'd guess she was in her early 20s at that time.

She was married to James.

She has always called Edwin her brother (instead of brother in law).

''''Tramaine Hawkins'''' is a Grammy-, American-, and Dove Award winner gospel singer who occasionally releases albums simply as "Still Tramaine".

Tramaine Hawkins was born October 11, 1951 in San Francisco California. She came to fame as a featured soloist with then-husband Walter Hawkins' in The Edwin Hawkins Singers in 1968. She scored several hits as a solo artist in the '70s, '80s and 90s with "Fall Down," "Changed," "Goin Up Yonder," "Potter's House," along with many others. Tramaine Hawkins has been inducted into the Gospel Hall of Fame. Tramaine Hawkins is slated to deliver a new album entitled I Never Lost My Praise, produced by Kurt Carr and Jamie Hawkins (Tramaine and Walter's Son), on March 6, 2007.[1]

While married to Bishop Walter Hawkins, the couple had two children a son, Walter "Jamie" Hawkins, Jr. and a daughter, Trystan Hawkins. Tramaine has one granddaughter, Jahve Hawkins. Tramaine currently resides in Sacramento, California with her husband, Tommy Richardson, Jr.
