Hey, everyone, I just wanted to ask you all to say a prayer for me this morning. I will be going in to the hospital in about 30 minutes for surgery on my neck. They will be fusing and stabilizing c5, c6, & c7 vertebrae. Surgery never used to bother me but the older I have become the more apprehensive I have become.

thanks for praying!

Thanks to everyone for you prayers and thoughts. The surgery went well. Along with the fusion of the vertebrae, Dr. Gunderson also removed numerous large bone spurs that were impacting my spinal cord.

Ferd, the Loricet and the muscle relaxers are working pretty well... now I have an excuse for my wackimeaness! :D

The biggest problem I am having now is the swelling in my throat. I can barley swallow water (i usually melt ice chips in my mouth). It also makes me feel like I am smothering when I attempt to lie down.

I appreciate you keeping me in you prayers as they say the first week is really tough

Been thinking about you. Glad you're on the mend! I would be tempted to use a time like this to eat a lot of good quality icecream.

Renda,

I will be sure andask Dr. Gunderson or his nurse what brand of product they used in my repair.. If it was Medtronic, I will feel enititled to a tithe of your tithe as I have contributed to your personal success.:shockamoo:shockamoo

Sis. Trouvere,

I will try to get you a candid shot of the tape covering the incision. You can then determine the quality of my repair..

Right now my biggest issue is not being able to sleep more than an hour at a time and then only in my recliner. I know it will get better with time but I have pain now that I didn't have prior to the surgery. I have been told that is normal.

Lol.....ah, but my success is only measured by the success of alleviating your pain!

Bro. Phil,

Sorry to hear about your surgery. I hope you recover well.
I have visited your church 2 more times AND NO PHIL JONES. I joked that I don't think you go to church there. LOL I did not go this Sunday because I hurt my back.

Hope you are feeling better soon.
