I've been knowing many of folks you for quite awhile now on these forums. Since my name is Pianoman, many of you have wondered what my piano playing is like.

I've decided to post a demo soundtrack that I made for a songwriter about three years ago. I made it using a drum machine, my keyboard, and a cheap 4 track digital recorder.

Keep in mind that this is a sound track and not designed as a music performance. There is a melody that is not heard that is supposed to be sung. The arrangement was done as a back-up to vocals, so don't expect anything fancy! :)

I am a writer and might be interested in getting piano tracks for demos. Can you send me info if you do that for folks and your fees?

sounded good to me.

I have had some work done by someone in GA, but after awhile sometimes things start sounding so much alike.

I have a Triton LE workstation, but first of all, I'm not great on keyboard and secondly, it's more computer than I know what to do with!

Thanks! It's not my best work, but it did the job done for the the songwriter! :)

You got a lot nicer keyboard than me! I've got one of the cheaper Yamaha 88 key weighted keyboards that has speakers built in.

Actually, I did that track and five others as a favor for a friend. I don't do this type of thing anymore. After all, it would require me to spend time away from AFF! :toofunny

My 18 yr old daughter is envious also. :D

Sounds good, I appreciate that you did NOT play the melody. Musicians who are backing up a soloist should play chording, framework & improv between lines, and never the melody, especially straight through. Nice job.

You are correct about musicians for a singing soloist or group. It's not the time for a musician to showboat.

I was at a camp meeting one year directing the camp choir and we had a phenominal organ player. I had a hard time explaining to the organist that he was overshadowing the choir! He couldn't understand the concept of being a PART of the band instead of being a one man band! I had to tell him to follow the chord charts and keep it pretty simple.

When he finally did, the band and the choir sounded much better and you could understand the words! :)

I feel cheated!!!!!! I clicked on the link expecting a Bosendorfer or a Steinway and I got me some cheap Yamaha fake piano.......JUST TEASING!!!!!!!!

Pianodude, you got some chops, especially for an old dude! I did notice the "80's" ballad patch you threw in a couple of times, he he. I tease the young fellows when they rarely compliment my bass playing (I hardly play anymore) that they could sound that good too if they threw in some 1980's riffs!!!

I would love to hear the recorded song someday....and I hope they hired a drummer....haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Do you play at CC at all? I know they probably have all the talent in the world, but it would be a shame if your talent is relegated to a sales floor...you got the stuff!!!!! Whenever I am in Nashville again, I wanna piano lesson from you!
