Guys I have a friend from JCM that needs us to pray for her husband! I received this email from her and would appreciate you all lifting them up in prayer!

"Hey girl,

I am writing to ask you to pray. My world has been shook up and I am feeling overwhelmed.

Joe had a arteriogram (heart cath) on Friday and the results have me somewhat shook up to say the least. He has had numerous (20) caths in the past and so this was not our first rodeo. I expected his doctor to stent him up and he would feel better. But this time that was not the case. She stopped and came out to talk with us. He has two blockages that can't be stented and therefore she called in a surgeon to see if bypass surgery would be an option. His LAD is 60% and his RCA is 100%. The RCA is back to back stents so they don't know if they will be able to bypass it - not sure if there is any artery left at the end of the stents to bypass. He will not know about that until he gets in there to see. You could have knocked me over with a feather. He has already been through so much and I don't see that we have any other option. We see his cardiologist on Thursday for the final decision.

I wasn't sure how to start a thread on the forum but feel free to do so if you want. I am asking for prayers from all that know how to pray. I know that God is in control and he will be with us but there is still considerable stress involved.

I appreciate you and your friendship - even though I don't tell you or stay in touch as much as we used to. I do value our friendship. Pray for me to be strong and not fall apart. I have done my best to take care of him during all of his illnesses."

I'm sorry that I missed this earlier!

Red, please know that my prayers are with your husband and you during this trying time. I enjoyed meeting you both a few years ago during the reunion.

Red,

I am also praying. I really enjoyed meeting your husband at the reunion a couple of years ago. I can't even imagine the stress you guys are going through.

Let the Holy Spirit be the comforter God said His Spirit would be.

We are about to head out to the appointment with Joe's cardiologist. Please remember us in your prayers - that God will lead and direct his physicians and that everything will be ok. I cannot imagine my life without him. Thanks in advance for your prayers and concern.

Many thanks to all who are praying.

Update - still waiting on the cardiologist to get with the surgeon for scheduling but Joe is tentatively scheduled for coronary artery bypass (triple) on Monday, November 26. They feel he will be fine to wait until after Thanksgiving. Of course he has been instructed to take it easy and any change in symptom's to head to the ER. We have utmost confidence in his physicians and believe God will guide and direct them and for a speedy recovery and better quality of life for Joe.

Your prayers are still needed and appreciated. It is a scary time for me but I know God is in control and He will see us through.

Thanks again.

Red, I can only imagine how scary it is for a spouse to prepare for triple bypass surgery! My prayers are with you for the next week as you go through the Thanksgiving season. I'm sure you have a lot of things to be thankful for, with Joe being a major one.

Keep us updated on Joe's progress!

Just now seeing this request for Joe:

Lord God,

We humbly pray that Your Mighty Hand of Protection would be upon

Joe as he faces this delicate surgery! Lord God, if You would just place

Your Hands upon the hands of the surgeon and guide his hands. If You

will give the wisdom (directions) to the surgeon and to every physican

and nurse who touch Joe, everything will be all right!!

Thank You for what You will do for Joe and his sweet wife, in Jesus Name!!!

It is now official the surgery is scheduled for Monday, Nov 26. We are to be at the hospital at 5:15am that morning.

We are still in much need of prayer. There are days the burden seems unbearable. However, we know that God is with us and we feel the strength of all who are praying.

We appreciate you all so much. We do have so much to be thankful for - especially this forum family and those that know how to pray.

Hope you all have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving.

Just a hurried note to let you all know that Joe made it through surgery and is slowly recovering. In addition to double bypass he had an aneurysm on the back of his heart that needed repair. So needless to say him having this surgery saved his life - he was a walking time bomb - now he is a walking miracle! We so appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers and ask that you continue to remember us. It has been a rocky road this week with a few set backs but we are on the road to recovery now. His lungs has some scarring from previous smoking so that has complicated his progress and there were times I wasn't sure he would pull through but today they moved him to the cardiac stepdown unit.

Again, I will try to post more later just ran home to check on a few things as I have not been home or near a computer all week.

Thanks again and please remember us in your prayers daily.

Joe got to come home yesterday and is improving daily. He is very sore and slow going but we are thankful for his progress. God is an awesome God and to God be the glory for directing the physicians and them finding the aneurysm and getting it repaired.

Many thanks to all who called our names in prayer. It means so much to know people are praying when you are in a desperate situation. There were a few times I wished I had access to a computer at the hospital so I could plead for instant prayers! However, I did find comfort in knowing it was posted here and you guys are praying.

God bless you all.
