This is from an e-mail I received this afternoon...... indirectly from her family....
Please keep Bethany Roam in your prayers. Bethany is a young married woman with a six-month old son, that has had a sudden liver failure. She is critical. They are trying to locate a liver transplant, but at this point, her blood is too thin to operate. Her liver is completely shut down and they cannot administer meds because the liver cannot process them.
The doctors are looking for three things before they can operate. Please pray for these three things to happen:
1. Pray that her blood thickens enough to operate.
2. Pray that the jaundice levels to go down.
3. Pray that the blood sugar will level out.
Also, pray that when a liver has been located, one will be in the perfect timing that Bethany's body is ready for it.
Thank you for your prayers!!!

Bethany Bishop Roam, an evangelist's wife in the Western District, is being taken into surgery for a liver transplant. Her blood has been very thin and that is a big concern for this surgery.
Please pray.

Lord God,
In Your Wonderful Name, the greatest Name, JESUS, we humbly ask
that You would divinely intervene on behalf of this young wife and
mother. It is You that hath made us and You can surely take care
of what is wrong. You know us inside out, head to toe. Grant, O Lord
God, a miracle for this family, in Jesus Name!!!

It definitely has to do with the transplant. She has had some problems with the medication and has not been able to hold food down. Yesterday they were on their way to S.F. for her scheduled Doctor appt this morning. On the way there, they made a call to the doctor and he told them to go directly to the ER. I'm not sure of any other details. If I find out more, I will let you know.

The following was just posted on the Prayer for Bethani Blog:
Bethani was admitted to UC San Francisco last night. They were able to give her medication to help her get some much needed rest. They also are giving her medication to help her nausea. They expect her to be there for three days for observation and test.
Thank you for your prayer! We serve a Great God!

Bethani Roam Bethani Roam, a 24 year old evangelists wife in the Western District, who is recovering from a liver transplant, woke up this morning unable to keep her medication down. They called the doctors in San Francisco to discuss her problem. After looking at her blood work the doctors told them to come straight to San Francisco that her numbers showed that she was in full rejection of her liver.
The family is asking for your prayers! Please pray that God will reach down right now and touch Bethani. God is able!

Good News!
According to the Liver Team Bethani's labs are getting better. Her main liver #'s are going down which means the anti rejection medication is working! This is the news we have been hoping for. Also if her numbers continue to trend downward then they will not have to put the camera down her stomach and check the bile duct. We thank God for this wonderful news!
She has endured 2 very difficult days in which she has gone through a biopsy, and lung draining procedures. Last night the doctors noticed her oxygen level was a little low and so they had to drain fluid from her right lung. This was not an easy procedure but necessary for her oxygen level. They where able to drain 2 liters of fluid off her right lung.
Where to from here?
Now the plan is to put a feeding tube in some time today so they can get her some much needed nutrition. This too has been difficult for Bethani to accept, however it might just help her with the nausea problems that she has been having as well as strength for recovering.
Your prayers are definitely helping us through this crazy time, please continue to pray that this nausea subsides enough to eat and keep meds down and lastly pray that we get a complete recovery from this rejection.
My sweet little wife is in a lot of pain. Please pray for her.
Bethani and I are looking forward to our first Christmas with our son Wyatt!

I received word last night that Bethani is facing her third round of anti-rejection drugs, her body is starting to reject her new liver for the third time. This is very uncommon, but since she is so young and was previously healthy, her body really is viewing this liver as an invader. She is very ill, and in excruciating pain, and she is not allowed to take anything for the pain.
She has a one year old baby to take care of, and they have continued to try and evangelize during this, but her doctor has told her that she has to stop and take care of herself if she wants to survive. This family has been to hell and back, and they desperately need our prayers.

Great and Mighty God,
You see this young wife and mother, Bethani [Bishop] Roam and the
pain and suffering she has endured. Lord God, if you would see fit, let
this little mother live to raise her child. Just as You raised us our grand-
mother, when she was dying of typhoid fever, and asked You if you
would see fit, to let her live to raise her three children. Lord, You not
only let (allowed, permitted) her live to raise HER three children but to
see me, her oldest granddaughter, and to see my oldest grandson. You
allowed her to see the fifth generation of her family. Thank You, Lord
God, for You are great and greatly to be praised.
Lord, You are no respector of persons. Thank You for what You will do
for the Roam family, in Jesus Name!

One Day at a Time
Dear Friends,
I've been told that the word is I am back in the hospital. Well I am not thank God!! My numbers have been going up and the doctors are concerned that if they can't get them down again that I could be going into a third rejection due to stress. So just keep praying and believing with us that Gods timing is perfect. What ever He wants we will due. I love all of you and we will keep you posted.
With much love,
Bethani Roam

Thanks for posting this, Raven. :) It sounds pretty much in line with what dizzyde posted.
I think perhaps someone may have read the first part of this thread, which was from November of last year, and then inquired about it to Bethani as if it were current information. LOL!!! The more recent posts said nothing about Bethani being "back in the hospital."
It's important to look at the dates when info is first posted.

If requesting prayer for this was offensive I will contact directly to apologize.I do not think you did anything wrong, like Miss B said someone probably read the thread wrong and thought we recently said she was in the hospital, you basically repeated what Raven quoted from Bethany.
Anyway, I think anyone going through what she is going through would not mind us praying for her--and if there is a slight mix up, we can straighten it out.:thumbsup
