Ok ... it's a slow night ....

My Dad often saw angels when the church was submerged in worship and praise. As for me, I don't think I've ever encountered one.

Have any of you seen angels?
What did the angel[s] look like?
Does seeing one somehow reflect on your spirituality?

Approximately 11 years ago, when my oldest daughter was about 6 years old we were at a state park having a family picnic. After we'd had our picnic, we went over to the playground-- and she was playing on the slide. She had climbed up to the top of the slide and fell off from the platform that was about 8 ft off the ground. I saw her falling, but couldn't get to her fast enough to break the fall. I screamed the name of Jesus...it's all I could say...

She hit the top of her head, and was laying motionless on the ground. My husband, myself and our daughter were the only people at the playground. I told my husband to get in the car and go to the ranger station and call for an ambulance. I don't think I have ever been so scared in my life. As my husband was getting in the car to go call for help-- I looked up and saw a woman standing there beside me and my daughter. She was wearing a blue denim dress with some kind of an applique on the front. She was also holding a bottle of spring water, and a paper towel-- which she used to wipe my daughters face.

The woman told me that everything was going to be okay. My daughter opened her eyes-- and tried to get up. I told her to lay still, and that she didn't need to get up. The next thing I knew-- my husband was driving back up with the park ranger. The woman stood beside me until my husband got out of the car. Then as the park ranger came running up to me-- I turned to say Thanks to the woman for staying there with me-- but she was gone. My husband never saw her-- the park ranger never saw her. She just disappeared.

It wasn't long before the ambulance arrived. They took care of my daughter, and loaded her into the ambulance. As we were riding to the hospital, my daughter was talking to the paramedics. I asked her if she remembered the woman being there with us. She said "Yes, Momma. That was my angel. Whenever I'm really scared-- she is always there with me."

She didn't look like I expected an angel to look-- but I know without a doubt she was an angel.

I don't want to minimize this story because it was a great story, but I wonder if it will give rise to a new thing...the blue denim angel! Pretty cool. Can you describe the applique? Not even sure what that means

Are you doubting this as a supernatural apparition, Prax?

Why would you ask that? I didn't post anything speculating as to the doubfulness of the story

The applique was just a sewn on patch type design on the dress... It was a square block with a picture of something inside it... but I don't remember what the picture was-- honestly I wasn't paying that much attention because I thought it was just someone that had walked up. I wasn't expecting her to just disappear like that or I'd have paid more attention to detail. :)

Did she look Apostolic? Do you recall how she appeared?

I sensed some sarcasm .. don't you think that angels will appear in forms that are comfortable and contemporary to the person it appears to ... What would the OT saints have thought if they would have seen angels dressed in modern attire ... Are we to think that angels must appear in long flowing tunics????

I never hinted that I did not believe anything. I said it was a cool story and that I did not want to minimize it. However don't you think it's interesting how God's angels appear to us? In this case it was blue denim?

Brown hair, shoulder length. Just kind of ordinary. Nothing that would have made her stand out in a crowd or anything.

As for her just appearing-- I was knelt over my daughter at the time, I looked up and she was there. The playground was empty except for my family. There were swingsets and slides on one side, with a park bench or two. On the other side, there was a basketball court. There was wooded area on three sides of the playground-- and a narrow paved road and small parking area to the front of the playground area. She didn't drive up, she didn't walk up from the road. There was no one else around.

I think she just "appeared". The reason I think this is because the entire playground area where we were was covered with the brown pea gravel. I'd have heard anyone walking up.

And on that note... I'm signing off-- not to avoid answering additional questions-- but because it's almost 10pm here, and I have to get up at 4:45am.

Nite. :)

I don't dis credit this at all..not one Iota.

But blue denim jumped out at me too. Guess it was hearing blue denim skirts preached against for so long in a chuch I used to attend.

Praise God for an angel that would show up wearing something preached against by some.

Shows me God is good....and he could care less what somebody with a brain cramp comes up to preach against. :killinme

I do not want to change the subject. Nor did I want to tell this event. I had worked third shift for several years.

I had not slept for almost 2 full days.

My wife was working and I was finally able to sleep.

I fell asleep in my room in our Apartment.

We had a waterbed.

I would keep the door slightly ajar.

I was in and out of sleep.

I had something pulling on my feet.

Well I struggled to speak the name of Jesus in my condition.

I then looked over my shoulder to the left and saw a glimpse of my Brother-In-Law. If anyone wants to PM me I will share his name.

I saw him clearly praying for me and heard him speaking my name and pleading the blood of Jesus.

I then at that moment spoke these words.

Devil I rebuke you in the name of Jesus Christ.

I believe in the Cross and that Jesus died for my sins.

At that moment I stood up and hit the light.

I caught only a glimpse of a being.

I could not share with you any phsyical characteristics.

I did notice that you could see clearly indentations on my blanket at the end of my bed where something had been pushing hands down on my bed.

I then went right to sleep without fear.

When I woke a few hours later, I called my sisters house clear across the county in Ohio.

The first words from her mouth were that my Bother-in-law was going to call me later that day.

He knew I would be sleeping.

He was impressed to pray for me the entire day.....

Many believe that when you get extremly tired or are using drugs.

We can lose control of our normal sensory perception.

So each night I pray the blood of protection over my kids and my wife and I.

So while we sleep we are protected.

It was a very real personal experience.

One that I sometimes remind my wife.

I say these words, "Devil u had your chance and you blew it".

I love this thread, even though some of the content is a little freaky.

I believe angels appear for the purpose of delivering a message, whether spoken or perceived. I wonder how many angels are peering into our activity right now?

What is the purpose of their earthly activity?

Don't apologize, friend.

There are many things felt that are never, ever seen. I am not a supernatural ghost hunter, but I do believe certain geographical areas are demonic strongholds.

I have entered places and known immediately what the dominant spirit of the community was. Thank God we have an all-powerful Savior!

When we assisted in St Peters, Missouri, we lived in a middle-class neighborhood known for its safety.

One night, I was awakened from a deep sleep with the impression that I needed to pray - and loudly. It wasn't a fearful thing. It was just an impression that I needed to pray NOW.

I went through the entire house praying over all three kids and my wife. I stayed up praying for a few hours. I finally sat down in the front room and went to sleep.

The next morning we turned on the radio and learned that a house three doors down from us had been broken into, and a little girl had been assaulted.
Later that day, as I was mowing, I noticed a perfect hole had been cut in our basement window with some sort of glass cutting tool.

I have often wondered if the Lord woke me up that night, and the sounds of prayer stopped something from happening.

Never underestimate the power of prayer.

I have never seen an angel that i am aware of.

I do remember one time when my daughter was about 3 or 4. The pastor was either preaching or baptizing someone... (I am getting old now and that was over 10 years ago :) ) But she asked who that man was. We saw that she was looking toward the platform and the only man up there was the pastor.

Knowing that she knew the pastor very well we asked "What man?" She said... the man in white. We then asked "are you talking about the pastor" (Which was not dressed in white).

She said... No... the man behind him.

Who knows. There was certainly no other man there that we saw. And that wasn't something she had ever said or done before and hasn't done since.

I can't actually recall seeing an angel in human form, however one time at church while praying I saw what looked like a small pillar of smoke or white vapor...kinda hard to describe...move through the pews towards the alter.

One time, I was recently filled with the Spirit. Another new convert and I were going to a sectional meeting 2 hours away and I was riding on the back of his motercycle. I was praying that God would protect us and on the back of that machine God gave me a vision of the Lord sitting on the throne and he was pointing to what I gather was an angel. No wings. And he told me he was going to protect me.
