When you begin to get upset over something you read here (and you will eventually- everyone does) , log out and go out and get some fresh air. :D

Remember to address the other members around here that have been here awhile as "Sir" or "Ma'am."
Grand Potentate as a greeting works as well!:bubble

Oh, it also helps to have a sense of humour & to try not to take anything to seriously!:hypercoffee

Ok, advice from a newbie to the newbies, these people here are WEIRD but keep reading and get to know the people underneath the weirdness, they're pretty cool. :bouquet

Afterall, I couldn't expect to get along with anyone who's not really as strange as I am, could I? :friend

It takes awhile to earn your street cred. Don't try to make everyone listen. Just write things that are so interesting, we can't look away. :D

P.S. DON'T write everything in CAPS, large font, neon colors, oronehugeneverendingparagraph. If you do, we will skip your post simply because they're too hard on the eyes.

Mirror, Mirror, on the wall,

Who is the MOST APOSTOLIC of them all?????

What does being the most apostolic mean anyway?

Its means being like ME! The mostest Apostolic person you will ever meet. I have been Apostolic longer than anyone. I dress Apostolic...talk Apostolic, think Apostolic, work Apostolic, breathe Apostolic. I am the Apostolic that other Apostolics dream of being....

Now...back to the real world. Being "the most Apostolic" is a funny. We get into some heated conversations here and some try to be funny by saying they are the most Apostolic. They are not. I am. :blissMirror, Mirror, on the wall,

You must also realize in this place... some are in a world of their own... just read and move on if they bother you! Everyone grows on ya eventually. Maybe not in the good way but you will get used to them.. good or bad...

About Thad... There is a button you have to click to open any thread. If you decided you do not like the type of stuff posted in the Tab... then please DONT read there... just move on because most of us here enjoy reading what he has to say and do NOT want to hear all the whining of those who dont like it...

And another thing to remember... We are a very upfront crew... but we love pretty much everyone... but....... and thats a big one... dont come on pretending to be something you arent because thats one thing no one can stand around here!

Be yourself and have fun... enjoy because we are all a bit nuts and I dont know many who will come by who dont fit the bill too... so have a blast...:)

I have lurked on these boards (which is what 95% of those who are members do) for a couple of months now, and I've pretty much realized the most of the same subject matter gets rehashed endlessly. Some topics go on for well over 100 pages, which is primarily due to the fact that these boards are used more like chat rooms for the members that have been here for a while.

This leads me to wonder why there isn't an IRC or some java based chat channel which the active "members" can use to discuss topics, joke around and goof off in. Its much less clunky and way more interactive. By the time a topic gets started, there are already ten pages of replies that you have to trudge through just to keep up....and more keeps comin. And seriously, about 25% of it is relevant.

Has anybody thought about starting a chat room? Makes more sense for the style of posting here.

Don't ge me wrong, I'm not bashing, just pointing out some deficiencies and making observations.

I have to agree since I've thought the same thing, most of what i've read is silly goofin off btwn long time friends., newbies are pretty much left out in the cold, ignored, but I can do without so much goofiness, GOD's WORD and service to Him is serious., I think that perhaps another good idea is one just for newbies to get to know each other., just my twocents.

Yup, excellent idea. I mainly come to get the latest news from across the land and see what's going on. Certain topics interest me, but I usually read the first few pages of each topic as that usually contains the best conversation...it usually goes down hill from there.

Thanx for not thinking my idea is dumb, I had meant to say a chat room or special area for newbies, perhaps this thread is the closest thing; newbies aren't exactly essential, reminds me of calling a docs office and asking if he takes new patients..and they hang up on you., hehehe! An astute person would know not to call back..but me?? I am an original., perhaps a better description is 'ancient' (i.e. old paths) old school, whatever, but I miss the good ole much better in many ways, days., albeit in ignorance of GOD's Word. I do appreciate His mercy in granting me the privilege to be called and chosen. See ya 'round as we mingle., feel free to chat anytime. ;)

Does the red person nest to the user name indicate a person on probation or a newbie? Some have that next to their usernames but aren't a newbie.

It is red if the member is online and on visible... most of the forum however tends to stay invisible... at times.. but nope thats not a newbie thing :) welcome btw

Ah, yeah, Enlightened; what's happening? Those are some good observations, but I see you didn't use the new forum suggestion post button. All forum suggestions need to be posted with that new forum suggestion button. Didn't you see the button for that?

Ah Yeah. I'm gonna need you to find that button and resubmit your suggestion. Oh, and I'm going to need you to do that right away. Say, no later than tomorrow at around, 9:00. Yeah, if you could do that, that would be great.

We had the option of a "ChatBox" addon. It is a huge resource hog as everyone in the box is always logged into the server. Normally you tap the server once per page view, not continually logged in.

We choose not to participate due to the bandwidth it would consume, and if we had a chat box, the participation in the threads would greatly suffer. I for a while owned the IRC chat channel #Apostolic. I also belong to a tech board where discussion has slowed to nil due to the ChatBox. ...... Been there, done that. No thanks.

We do appreciate any suggestion.
