View Full Version : Mom In Nursing Home Mishap-Please Pray
My mom had a major stroke after surgery about 9 years ago and has been partially paralyaed, tube fed, and unable to speak since then.
I just got a telephone call that somehow the tube that regulates her tube feeing came loose and an entire bag of the nutrient rushed into her stomach through just gravity. What should have been given to her over many hours went in very quickly.
This has caused her to be in a lot of pain initially but she appears to be doing much better now. They are withholding the tube feeding for 12 hours to give her body a chance to absorb the accidental overdosage and they are observing her closely for any signs of problems with her lungs, reflux, etc.
Please help me pray that she will not have any problems from this incident.

I am praying. But also I am aware you are a very intelligent man, but sometimes things happening quickly make us not think clearly... make sure you document the entire phone call as you remember it and times and dates. Been in this same situation and I am indeed praying. This happened to my grandmother last year.
