This happened to me in a McDonalds! I went up to a lady and asked her if she was UPC! She gave me the stare of death!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It turned out that she was holiness Baptist!!! I apologized!

We have a rather large group in our area which looks exactly like this, but are anything but. Over the last half century, their "Church" has turned into nothing but an outwards based organization. I mean that literally.

LOL....Im not sure if this one was baptist...she might have been. A lot of UPCers would be suprised to find that there are baptists that do this too.

BTW we also have mennonites here...the men wear beards and dress "farmy" and the women wear scarves, dresses, no makeup or jewelry.

In this area there are a lot of Holiness and Free Holiness churches. They don't believe in speaking in tongues, but their dress standards are very traditional "Holiness".

While I'm at, I don't want it to misconstrued that I'm mocking those who maintain "standards". My wife and I have always tried to maintain Pentecostal traditions regarding dress. But, we recognize them for what they are... traditions. Theres nothing wrong with traditions, and we don't condemn them that don't hold to those traditions. Its my position that evryone should work out their own salvation and they don't answer to me... nor do I answer to anyone else. Except the Lord.

That is exactly how my best friend is, they hold a lot of the standards, but are not pentecostal, and she get completely offended if someone asks her what church she goes to or if she is pentecostal. We have an interesting relationship, to say the least!

Hey now, leave the bun alone, it's better than stringy hair! AND, some of us who have no hair :wave, don't have a lot of options. And long jean skirts are all the rage the season, I just wear mine with boots! :hurtyou
