Yes, Just because you have a heritage or tradition doesn't mean you have a relationship. It still takes choice, faith, repentance, obedience and relationship, and this manifests in fruit.

A mature Spirit filled believer manifesting the gifts and fruit of the Spirit is a tree of life.

Proverbs 3:18 - She [Wisdom] is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast are called blessed.

Proverbs 11:30 - The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and whoever captures souls is wise.

Proverbs 13:12 - Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life.

Proverbs 15:4 - A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.

Psalm 1:3 - He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.

Revelation 22:2 - through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

I agree, a believer must show fruits.

Had an old timer that used to say, the proof is in the pudding....

Another thing, where do you find in scripture that the tree of knowledge of good and evil symbolizes man’s free will to decide whether to follow Gods word or their own? Why were fig leaves used in covering Adam and Eve?

They weren’t covered by just any leaves. The writer wanted to point out that they were only covered in the leaves of the fig tree. Yet, they only covered their lower parts. The knowledge of good and evil. Adam and Eve did the bare minimum. What was the knowledge of good and evil which didn’t bring fruit to eternal life?

*Who broke the covenant relationship with God through disobeying His commandment
*Who tried to establish her own righteousness by covering with fig leaves instead of by faithful obedience
