One big challenge Pastor Suber will need to address....

is that the church he is going to is predominantly white ... if not all ...

I understand close to half of Shreveport's population is African-American.

If they are to grow ... than an effort to reach the whole community will need to be launched.

Is he gonna "tune up" for the white boys ??? :christmoose

God is always trying to speak to all of us, we have to get real quiet, and listen very carefully. Sometimes it may take two or three days of quiet time to hear. But it is always worth the effort. Peace comes."

In reference to Stephanies comments about people wondering what went wrong, why do you think it is that in our organization we equate success with longevity in one location?

If you study scripture, Paul didn't settle down in one place, Jesus never settled down in one place. I think that on this issue, as on many others, we've deviated from the scriptural model of evangelists and church starters.

I would agree that sometimes people get happy feet, but in many cases, people are called to one location for a period of time, and then God calls them elsewhere. That doesn't mean that they are unstable, or that there were problems, it's just that God is moving them, just as he did Elijah from the brook Cherith to a widow's house, and just as he uprooted Philip from a flaming hot revival to drop him in the desert to speak to ONE man.

I wish that people were not so quick to jump to conclusions, or label someone unstable of flighty when they leave what appears to be a great situation to go to a not so great situation.

I don't know the Subers personally, but my prayers are with them - I've been in their shoes.

Yes, thank heavens....you wouldn't want to try to get anybody saved outside of the metro area. Why waste Jesus outside the city limits?

:gotcha

As I said before in another Suber thread...when they feel it's time the whole world will know what is going on because they will post it on the Suber Ministry Group Website...

I love the Subers!!!! Yea! GO! Be in God's will!!

And BTW, keep watching the site because there will be more positive announcements coming....
