Now you are getting close to blasphemy my friend...just take a walk through memorial park at Yankee Stadium and I promise you you will not leave there the same person as you walked in...it was a religious experience for me then to watch a game there...wow!

I bean to...

Yankee Stadium
Shea Stadium
Fenway
Veterans Stadium
Wrigley Field
Dodger Stadium
Coors Field (of course)
PacBell Park
Oakland's dog-patch
BOB (Bank One Ball park)
Candlestick Park

The Lord inspired the invention of baseball!

Well, I compromised and went to a Braves game last year because I had free tickets. Other than the guys setting in the bleachers in front of us that were probably drunk before they got there, and drank like fish through about 4-5 innings before disappearing never to return, and having to smell the stench of their beer, it was a good time.

Needless to say, it was the only baseball game I will ever attend.

Thanks for all of the info guys. I've been to a couple of major league games in my life, but I live a long way from California, so have never been to a game
there. My brother is a big Dodgers fan. He lives in Riverside, CA. We all like
sports, so we thought it would be a fun thing to do while on vacation.
As for attending sporting events and being in the UPC, I think in my district it would be fair to say that sports are not preached against by very many preachers. I know a lot of pastors that occassionally attend. The first time I attended a game (college football at Neyland stadium) I felt a little uncomfortable because when I first got in church it was still frowned upon, however once I went to the game, I realized that I was setting beside the same people that we would see in a restaraunt or Wal Mart for that matter,
and I have had a clear conscience about it every since.

I've only been to one minor league game..it was much tamer than you describe.

I've turned down free tickets to the Iowa Hawkeyes FB games the last two years.

Not a spiritual conviction..I just don't like crowds.

To sit amidst a bunch like you endured, smokin' drinkin' and a yellin' would not have been to my liking either.

We were in a section that only had us and these ruffians. After they left, we had about 20 rows of empty seats in front of us, and I had a nice time with my family. It was that 4 or so innings that put the blot on it. I still wonder if my wife prayed until they left. :toofunny
