In this brief account we find several factors common in evangelical healing lines or personal visitations.

1. Discovery of the reason for the illness or malady...discernment

2. Visible manifestation during interview, either touching or other means.

3. Word of knowledge to effect the healing.

4. Once discovered the shaking hand stops.

In the case of Oral Roberts and William Branham, both of some American Indian descent, each had the, "swelling hand" manifestation. One evangelist had the swelling in right hand and the other evangelist had it in the left hand. It is said the type of disease could be detected in this manner.

As we have read (assuming one believes the account) the American Indians had a similar procedure to detect and then to heal diseases.

What are we to make of this?

That story is online. WMB borrowed many experiences from others, dates, etc. There is no extant evidence he had the alleged 7 visions he later recounted in the 1950's as being given to him in 1933.

More than one prophecy was related AFTER the event.

There are far too many red flags in his ministry to implicitly trust William as a sent prophet of the Biblical kind.
