We have a minimal base salary and it is per service. Then we consider other factors that may cause the base to fluctuate. We also make sure their room and board is provided and that they never have to buy their own meals during the tenure of the revival. If they fly in, then the church is responsible for their transportation. If they drive a long distance, we make sure to pay them extra to compensate for their travel expenses.

:thumbsup

I think that is pretty standard, isn't it?

I Pastor and I also have evangelized. I was always paid well. Never would demand an amount or use an evangelist that did. The circles I preached around treated evangelists and their families like royalty. Hopefully I do the same. They don’t leave here in need.

Amen, my Pastor evangelized for about 11 years with three stair step children. He has put in our hearts a deep love for evangelist. We take very good care of them.

Evangelists should be compensated and their needs met with great generosity. They sacrifice so much to embrace the evangelistic lifestyle.

Yes, they are often treated like royalty. But few truly know the hardships of being an evangelist... especially an evangelist with a family.

They are worthy of their hire. Pay them well.

Growing up, my father would always pay the expenses and then take offerings and give it to the Evangelist or missionary. It wasn't until probably a decade ago that I heard of Evangelists having set rates. Not fond of the idea, but I understand why some have done it. I've heard stories from Evangelists of churches and Pastors who barely paid for their food and nothing more.

On a regular basis I contact other pastors asking them what they are giving evangelists weekly. Not only do I want their expenses met. I want to be certain they can afford to minister to smaller congregations without suffering. Their ministry is much needed.

Awesome! Allowing them to minister in smaller churches that have the need but can’t afford the cost.
