Sadly, there are many of these gay oneness Pentecostal churches popping up all over the U.S. I know of one in Tampa, Scottsdale, Indianapolis, somewhere in Arkansas, and there are a lot more. A gal I went to JCM with is the music minister at one and she can use scripture to justify her lifestyle, but it's so twisted. Very sad! Almost all of the pastors have UPC roots.

What will REALLY be something is when the ultra-con gay churches start splitting off from the liberal gay churches over TV advertising. :pirate

Is there an inference here that Oneness Petecostals have a disproportionate number of Gay defectors?

Calm down big boy! I thnk she is just making an observation, not an inference.

It is a fact that there are the gay pentecostal churches springing up that she listed and it is a fact that they are pastored and staffed by ex UPCers.

That doesn't mean there are not more non exUPC gay churches but right now the Oneness Gay Pentecostal churches we know about all are ones that have these UPC roots.

It only makes sense since the UPC is one of the largest Oneness denominations. Because there is a lot bigger pool of licensed preachers to start with it is no surprise that many of these gay Oneness Pentecostal churches are staffed by exUPCers.

C. Garrett along with another preacher was scheluded to preach the Sun. night service at Ark. camp meeting at NLR in 1999, but while the first preacher ministered the Spirit moved in the service and Garrett never came to the pulpit.

He had debates with Campbellites. I never was impressed with him something always seemed missing to me although I did not know him real well. I was indeed sad to hear of this level of degeneration he sunk to. A few months ago someone told me what he did and gave me his site I think he was in Corpus Cristi, Tx. pastoring a gay church. I do NOT think he is related to the Arizona Garretts.

I can't BELIEVE THIS! My brother has MET THIS GUY!! In fact, he e-mailed me about him! Yes, he did pastor a SMALL group of "open and affirming" individuals. BUT, according to my brother the board asked him to leave after only a few months and when he wouldn't leave they actually CHANGED THE LOCKS so he couldn't get in!

Now, what group in Madisonville KY did he run with? I've been here my entire life and have never heard of this guy!

Sounds like your saying it was a God thing to keep the future reprobate from infecting others with his virus.

No that's not what I was saying, but it does sound right.

Just giving a little history.

I know, just doing some TIC, was this guy prominent and what in your opinion would lead to this radical change.

Joseph Miller 10-21-2007 11:23 PM

I don't know why he is considered prominent. I never liked his preaching myself.

I would say that the devil is behind the change.

Ultra conservative? On doctrine maybe...he was always a bit whacky, but we liked him and considered him a friend. He preached for my Dad a bunch of times, and stayed in our home. He was at our wedding. (He wrote scriptures all over our get-away car...Jeff was SO mad about that! LOL!)

He participated in a debate with a church of Christ preacher in Joplin.

I do remember one odd thing...I remember him saying that when he and his wife were married, that when they got to their hotel, they prayed together before...er...consummating the marriage. Not that its bad to pray...just it seemed a bit weird.... :depressed

He preached at my old church many many times before he got "big time" and yes he definitly was what some of you would call "UC" (that was way back, he loosened up a little bit when his old pastor died) He started out in an independent church i believe.. He preached at FPC before, years ago...
He married the pastor's daughter of one of the upc churches in el dorado, AR.. tarrah, whom he mentioned.. and he did join UPC...

.........ILuvFPC, it is totally shocking. ...Are you talking about Bro. C.E. George in Jonesboro as being the pastor who died? I think Bro. Epley said he had attended Bro. Blessingame's church in Conway, Arkansas first and then Jonesboro? Maybe? I may have been at NLR in 1999. I can't remember. I know I was there one year around that time. All I know is that I heard about him and did hear him preach once (my husband had to remind me - so this guy must not have been too memorable) - but didn't realize he'd gone so far off the deep end.

You obviously read something into the post that I wasn't trying to say. It was common knowledge he was with us... then preached for ICOF and AWCF. The "is/was" is alluding only to the fact that they may not - like most of us - have known that he went pervert on them.

Never made any innuendos that his present lifestyle was approved by them. I'm actually surprised that you thought I had... I see nothing remotely implying that I did.

I'm not sure which pastor, i remember him mentioning it when he was preaching at my old church (not fpc-nlr) that his ministry was changing and he wasn't as dogmatic, or words to that effect, on some issues as he once was since his pastor had passed.
I am listening to another one of his 'messages' now... he is talking about the "love of his life" the dude thats HIV positive... GROSSSSSSSSSS
UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!

JaneEyre 10-22-2007 12:09 AM

I was thinking about the song, "Sin Will Take You Farther Than You Want To Go" ...but it sounds like he wants to go where he is.

It amazes me, too, that he doesn't seem to mind the fact that his partner is HIV Positive. I can't imagine the deception this man is in - or is it more than deception? ....Not only is he deceived, but he is attempting to deceive others by "ministering" to them. Lord, don't let me be turned over to a reprobate mind to believe a lie and be damned.

It appears others around him may be deceived, too. Good grief, is it possible to get out of a pit this deep???

ILuvFPC 10-22-2007 12:13 AM

the memories are just rolling in... he preached so many revivals in my old church in south east arkansas... He was preaching the night i got baptized when i was 8 years old.... that was about 15 years ago...
Has anyone listened to his debates??? Dude knew his Bible! He made them church of christ (or church w/o Christ :pirate) dudes look plain stupid!!
this really just hurts..... so sad.....

We had an awesome service tonight. I love it when the Holy Ghost fills the house and people seem to respond to everything the preacher says.

Joseph Miller 10-22-2007 02:35 AM

I was preaching a pastor appreciation service. I only had 20 mins to preach (I normally preach about 45/50 mins). It was all the Holy Ghost. God just really anointed the preaching tonight. I know it ain't about me, but every preacher I know likes it when the preaching is "easy". I think any of those preachers that were there tonight could have preached with the anointing that was in that house.
