Or maybe they do get it, and instead of allowing them to come to that conclusion on their own, people scream "that's the Holy Ghost" maybe it's better if we let them tell us, or even ask us.

That's a good policy that my first pastor went by but here they are told they got it because they cried, prayed with the crying face, showed emotions, raised their hands etc... most didn't really get it. I'm right there watching.

I've been in tent revivals where ever 40 some people get it and you don't see them the next weekly service. All hype

A well known evangelist was there that does the emotional hyped alter call but no true infillings. He does that he repeat after him and now receive the Holy Ghost stuff.

But I know what's different.
Every few months we would have a three day fast and an all night prayer meeting.
We had outreach, bus ministry, visitation follow up, and home bible studies.
We always had preservice prayer.
We had services where the power of God was very evident, it would seem we were enveloped in a cloud of glory.
It was common for people to receive the Holy Ghost.

Im not seeing this same thing today. I know the ministry of the Holy Ghost is a sovereign move of God and we are not in control. But, is it possibly also because the church can't rise above where the ministry is leading?

I never have and never will tell someone "You got the Holy Ghost!" They will know if they did, and they can do the testifying.

It's the best policy to have.

I whole heartedly agree.

Several years ago I was on a phone call with a friend. He told me an experience his cousin had. She felt pressured to speak in tongues when she was surrounded by people screaming and praying over her. So, what did she do? She pretended to speak in tongues and everyone shouted their hair down.

This is not the way!

Amen :thumbsup
