They're as biased as the day is long!

I read TownHall.com and National Review, and sometimes enjoy their posts -- but they are also as biased as the day is long. That's not even hidden. It's an editorial-first site.

Even sites that report on stories, like Drudge Report, are extremely biased in how they select news, which headlines to print, etc... These are obvious biases.

My aunt's cousin-in-law agrees.

He seems to be only pointing out what the actual website says and is making a judgement call on what he thinks is happening. How is any of that a lie?

This is what is in the warning box that pops up when on that website:

I never saw the program, but I'm sure glad I never had a reason to go on that website. I don't want the government considering my computer and all it has on it as now a part of the federal computer system and it's property.
Would you?

It sounds to me like Beck made you think the same thing it did me: that by going to the cash for clunkers site any individual would have to agree to that big disclaimer.

But guess what: the website site he was on wasn't cars.gov. The website he was on when he got the warning was a related but different site specifically for car dealers so they could provide information and get reimbursed. There wasn't a link on the cars.gov homepage for the dealers page but I think there was somewhere on the website (I cannot verify this though).

In other words visiting cars.gov didn't mean you had to agree to that big ominous sounding disclaimer. But isn't that what you took Beck to be saying when you watched that clip? He said no one should go to that site. He didn't just warn dealers about that, he tried to make everyone think they shouldn't go to cars.gov.

So did Beck lie? Deceive? Or was he perfectly innocent in his presentation?

Seems to me if it was a deliberate lie someone besides the daily kos would have had that as headlines.
It's all conjecture it seems at this point.
There were two other people on the set who seemed to think the same thing.

Was there anyone who held his feet to the fire and made him retract what he said as being a deliberate lie?

I am impressed. Light does "research"

Credit managers
F & I managers
Business managers

3 different titles for sharks in a dealership.

F & I manager. Those are the guys that charge 180 bucks to give you a title, sell undercoating for 800 bucks, hustle you for 18% interest
and peddle extended warranties plus halogen head light fluid services. Gotta have fabric protection!!!

They are also the ones that tell you they are selling the car at "invoice". :laffatu

Christian Car dealers need to not know how F&I guys do to bring in the profits.

Light let him see this post and ask him if he uses Mitchel, ADP, Reynolds and REynolds or some other brand of software.

Under cash for clunkers the F & I guys made out like bandits.

:icecream

a car dealer can have 10 salesmen on food stamps and the credit manager is still going to be a fat cat.

Light must not know what is going on in a Car lot.:girlytantrum

Don't weasel out of it. Not that your the weaseling kind. I like discussing things with you :thumbsup

But, you watched the clip and I told you the facts. So can you at least acknowledge that if what I said was true that this clip showed Beck either lying or deceiving?

(So I guess Light's resource is no good, huh. They must be immoral, Leftist, or an DNC donor or something, right?) :heeheehee

Daily Koss, Huffington Post, Media matters etc don't really follow news. They follow Fox. They get their money from Soros. Lots. Now Soros is funneling money into NPR because NPR doesn't have a tainted vulgar reputation.

Objectivity would say we would apply the same standard of "benefit of the doubt" to those we agree with as to those we disagree with. So instead of saying "is this the only website disagreeing", Fox News would push that and say "We are the only one's reporting this." I've heard them say it, and I've heard them do it. And they've broken some legit stories. I didn't say "if it's so true, why isn't the other networks reporting on this?"

News networks playing FactCheck with The Glenn Beck Show isn't advantageous.

Yes, I can see that. But, I'm wondering if it was deliberate? If it was, then you're the first person who proved what I've heard a zillion times by a zillion people...okay, maybe not that many.
And you'll get the Kudos! :)
