It would have been better if the rhetoric had been toned down some, and condolences were sent to the family members of the victims.

You are wrong Price, as wrong as you have ever been.

Brother Haymon is not that type of guy. Sorry to disappoint you.

I consider Brother Haymon a friend of mine and you have to know his personality and his spirit in order to understand his perspective in this.

Actually I am surprised you didn't hammer him for not criticizing the fact that she left to go to a mainstream church.

SoCali you are off by light years in your comments!!!

I can hear Brother Haymon's voice in those words saying that in effect, the experience she had in their church was her foundation of faith and furthermore gave her courage to act when she needed to act. There was no gloating because Brother Haymon is not given to that type of self aggrandizement.

Did you hear any of the interview or her press conference? I felt the Holy Ghost in her conviction that this episode has brought her closer to the Lord and that she had gone on a fast right after.

Did I say SoCali that you and Alice were way way off base...? I did? Ok then.

Bump

Carp...you can make this observation because you know the man.

Those that don't have to take the article as is...and this is how it came across.

Brother Price 12-12-2007 04:03 PM

BROTHER Carp,

It seemed that the article was saying that. I did not say the man was like that, but the article appeared as such.

Unfortunately that is the case, I agree with you, however most of you jumped into his kitchen without even asking the question.

Cmon man, read what you wrote, you cannot say that this was a boastful statement without calling the author boastful. Gimme a break!

Once again, you can make this observation because you know the man.

I will say...and have said...that it could have been worded different as to NOT sound the way it is coming across by a lot of people on this forum. It comes across a certain way. Those that know nothing about the man have to take it as is. It's like people who have a sarcastic sense of humor. I may know it, you don't. They write a sarcastic remark. I take it as that is them being humerous. You take it a totally different way. That is probably what we have here....a style of one person that people know vs. how others view the same content without knowing the person.

And what question should that have been?

Is a man of integrity like Brother Haymon trying to capitalize on this situation by thrusting his church into the mix?

Is a man of integrity like Brother Haymon making an attempt to take credit for something?

Like I said, I agree with you that it could have been worded a little differently, however, I wonder who was browsing the church site? Do they know the Haymons? What were they looking for when they came across this? I don't believe for one single minute that whoever developed the first post in this thread has no idea about Brother Haymon and set out to toss some dirt or sling some mud...

THIS FROM PASTOR HAYMON"S CHURCH WEBSITE!!!!

Greetings, and Praise the Lord!
You’ve probably heard by now of the armed female security guard at the Colorado Springs church who stopped a gunman on a rampage last Sunday. Headlines in every news agency around the country have carried proclamations hailing her as a “Hero” who, “On Assignment from God,” “Stopped Carnage in Colorado” and “Saved Over 100 Lives.” Her name is Jeanne Assam.

Jeanne Assam (AP Photo) If you saw her picture in the news, did she look familiar? Probably so, because she came to CAC for several weeks in 2006. IN FACT, SHE WAS BAPTIZED IN JESUS’ NAME AT OUR CHURCH!

Sam C. Kelly met her at his job downtown. He and his wife, Alison, befriended her, and began introducing the precious gospel of Acts 2:38. She received the revelation of Jesus’ Name baptism, requesting to be baptized between services. She, along with the Kellys and I, met for prayer, and a very joyful, Biblical baptism.

Since then, her job moved her to Colorado Springs, where she’s been attending New Life Church.

Let’s agree together in prayer for the Lord to protect and guide Jeanne in this very demanding time of high-profile media coverage. She’s done a remarkable job of publicly giving God credit for her calmness in the face of danger and her miraculous success in the face of insurmountable odds. Also, let’s pray for the fullness of Holy Ghost salvation to be revealed in and through her. PRAISE GOD FOR ALLOWING CAC TO PLAY A ROLE IN JEANNE ASSAM’S LIFE!!

I'm just wondering if she was really converted what was she doing in a charismatic church? She should of been referred to a one God, apostolic, tongue talking, holy rolling, bible thumpin, isle running, holiness minded, church. There's a lot of good UPC churches in Colorado Springs.

Seems to me they didn't fully convert her?
