There is every possibility that you have served with one or more and never knew it. You seriously think that their sexual orientation would affect their ability to serve? If they made it to a unit, they made it through boot camp...

Do you know that there are people who were decorated officers when they came out and were forced out of the military?

And he's unable to really tell us why he wouldn't want to outside of that moronic mental illness thing. That really leaves only one reason.

And there's no question he served with gay guys anyway. It's a part of our culture whether we like it or not. We all go to church with gay people, we all shop with them, heck, we might even BE them!!!

And of course, there's always the research that shows that those who are most bigoted against them are those who have actually had feelings.....

.....we better not get into that.

And, let us not forget, that a vast number of so-called "straight" guys are actually bi-sexual. What about them? Throw them out? My opinion is keep your sexuality to yourself or at least try to fake heterosexuality, otherwise you are going to be ostracized, and then eventually asked to leave. That's just life in the military.

Hmmm, open showers knowing others in there with you were gay. Where would that leave the christian in terms of modesty and holiness standards ?

I've never understood why it bothers straight people to be around gay people. What's the problem? If you're truly straight, what are you afraid of? Like, are you afraid it's gonna rub off on you or something?

In a lot of Islamic cultures men practice "homosexuality" but they are married to women. They claim they are not really gay because they don't love the men. It's weird and sick IMO but hey, maybe that's the way to go for the military?
