Really sad but true.

That's why everyone down here asks if you are licensed and insured. No permit no paycheck. :)

To hear Chris tell his listeners that he doesn't have a trade other than telling people their fortunes from behind a pulpit, was sad. I mean I really felt bad for him. How did he miss not having some sort of a trade? Didn't he take auto mechanics in school? Or wood shop? How about a pottery class? Home economics? Still, he can walk up on any construction job and be a day laborer. If he is a hard worker they will teach him to mix mud, drive heavy equipment, put up scaffold. He could also be a painter, start with indoor painting. He could move on to painting houses. Who knows, he may get so good he'll end up painting portraits.

The privacy settings were restricted. I think if the privacy settings are "world," then everyone can see the post even if they are not signed up for FB. But if the access is restricted then it can't be linked.

Yes, he made the statement that his only skill set is ecclesiastical performing actor. That’s all he had ever done in his life. So working at Bob Evans, or Pizza King isn’t an option for him. Also Uber is out of the question. Therefore he found a church building with some pews and a few golden velvet lined offering plates, and the show must go on. No one cares that he is lecherous. He’ll fill the pews in no time.

They are like best preacher friends or something. Know a lady, who was real big on McArthur. She wound up in Lawson's church. When the news recently came out she was devastated.

Jesus has never let me down.

I hear they can’t wait until Lawson is restored so he can get back in the pulpit.

Yes, there are those who want this pervert back in the pulpit.
When Bob Coy was caught for his adultery, half the church wanted him back in the pulpit. Lawson is a headliner, and has a fan base that still want him back. Remember they believe it is impossible to stop sinning. If that is the case, then how can he be expected not to sin, and how can people not forgive him. Chris Reed posted a new video where he rambles about his adultery. He still has his fan club. In this new video he has proven he lost him mind over his situation. Brother, these guys are kept around by no one else but their fans. Jimmy Swaggart never regained his fame he had before he was found out. But he still had a following who supported him. Lawson is no different.

Steven Lawson is 73. The woman is in her late 20s. The word is that there was no fornication, and even lived in different states so it was kind of a platonic romantic relationship that went for 5 years.
It is very likely he will be restored but not with the same influence as before. MacArthur and friends are very strict about stuff like that.

Steven would preach for MacArthur when it was absent, for example. He also worked in the same seminar that MacArthur runs.

Does there have to be intimate physical contact for a pastor to be disqualified or is it enough that the person is not "above reproach"

Chris makes the claim in his recent video that there was no intimacy besides kissing, that this incident happened three years ago, that he has already been restored. And that he along with Donald Trump are the victims of Marxist demonic cancel culture.

It would seem that flirting with and having an emotional relationship with a parishioner is a serious breach of pastoral ethics and disqualifies a pastor from being "above reproach" (1 Timothy 3:2-10; Titus 1:5-9):

* Abuse of power and trust
* Emotional and spiritual manipulation
* harm to the parishioner and congregation
* Damage to pastoral reputation and credibility
* Harm to congregation's trust and unity

I believe we are in a drastically changing environment in this time. People are blurring the lines on what exactly is sin. Here is the new Chris Reed (continuing to dig himself a hole) video. The he who without sin comment wasn't that they too were adulterers. But, they too were law breakers.

There is no church discipline because Lawson was not a member of any church.

The church everyone thought he pastored was paying Lawson to preach regularly. He was listed as lead preacher, not pastor or elder.

I think you would be expecting too much if he needed to start prophesying his own shortcomings.

Actually, I really don’t know him very well. Evangelist Benincasa would be better at describing who he is. And he is much more eloquent and colorful than me.

However . . .

My prophecy has already come to pass. He has started a new church. After stepping down from his other one because of his scandal. But he’s Pentecostal, so it gives him credibility somehow it seems. And sometimes he gets something right. Hence my comment about his batting average.

Other than that, read the posts and watch the linked videos. You’ll probably know as much as I do.

I think I have heard someone refer to him as a Christian psychic? Which may be fairly accurate. Charismatic Pentecostal profiteer. Teaches how to have spiritual gifts (for a price).

I’m pretty sure he would have a glass of wine. Not sure about the Telly program though. Probably so.

After all his first recorded miracle was turning water into wine.

I don’t remember any television programs though.
