Hmmm....first of all only a couple of Christ Church board members even know me. Secondly I am betting that most of the CC board members don't even know what the UPC is. Thirdly.......well you get the idea. Where have you been????? |

My answer is the same: No board will make my decisions for me...they are replaceable.

I think concerning the great "Chasm" that sometimes spans between the Pulpit and Pew that those who don't build relationships with folks and believe the "Chasm" should
exist concerning the ministry / regular christian will probably have these type of situations.... Men who build relationship out of fear and not love will reap what they have sewn... But there are many Pastors who build relationships with the Men in their church who when called upon those men would charge Hell with a leaky bucket of water than to go against the man they call, Pastor..... The end game will always rest on relationship.....good or bad.... |

If they tell you something along the lines of "Get in the UPC or leave," or "Get out of the UPC or leave," you probably ought to leave anyway.
They value an organizational affiliation over their relationship with a flesh and blood pastor? Get out of there already. |

Re: What If Your Church Board Told You "Get In The
It would never happen since the church board would be made up of an attorney in another state, a CPA in a distant town of the same state and a business man in yet another state, all of whom would understand my wishes and are all too happy to carry them out. Board meetings would be carried out by video conferences once a year as a brief formality taking no more than a minute or two, results recorded by the church secretary.
Never seen it tried that way so I wonder how it would work? A Pastor that does not know how to keep control probably has no business being the Pastor. |
