Uh, it's OK, I guess, but I think we can do better.

Are you applying for the job of campaign manager? I am still in DESPERATE need of one, you know.

Brother Jones,

I know this is totally off the subject, but I you were at TBC when I was there. If you remember, we had three students with unique names attending during that period: Pat Buffalo, Danny Skinner, and Tommy Tanner.

Thus, we were all set for our own "wild west show" -- a Buffalo, a Skinner, and a Tanner.

For some reason, your post made me remember this.

Wild West Show... you are so on target.

Now let's see... The Buff is married to one of our former instructors Bro. Anderson I think, TT and Ruthie are who knows where and I lost track of Danny right after I dropped out. Didn't Danny have a penchant for an electronic Bible way back then?

I need to get to one of those reunion events and reconnect with some of these folks.

I am working on my second cup of Community Coffee... still waiting for my creative juices to kick in...

As for the position.. I have been VP of Business Development in my career. There may be something here.

Let me think about it....

I've put in my application ahead of his ... I would get you elected in a heartbeat.

My resume is impressive and germaine to the task at hand...

like the time my best friend and I ... got the biggest nerd in elementary school Rudra Bhalliram elected as Student Council President .... it was a well-coordinated grassroots campaign that resulted in a landslide.

Nope.
He isn't qualified.
Hasn't been ordained long enough to meet the requirement in the manual.

That renders him unelectable.

This just came to light a few days ago.
It caused a serious shakeup.
Shay Mann has reconsidered and is reportedly going to allow his name to run.

This is sad. Though I'm sure certain ministers are rejoicing over this, since I doubt they wanted WF as the GYD Prez. You gotta think this was the work of some ministers upset with the progress of NAYC and the major steps it took this year. So someone with a grudge started researching and found out this good man can't run because of a ridiculous technicality?

A few months? Are you kidding me? With all the political shenanigans done behind the scenes in some districts and at HQ you'd think they would find a way to make it happen.

Of course, unfortunately he's not part of the good ole boys network. I doubt this would be a problem if it were JU and he was running. :sshhh

Don't know much about Mann, but I liked what the GYD was doing. Hopefully this election year won't take the GYD back to the stone ages.

Interesting development . . . a little surprised I haven't heard this until now. Need to call my sources and see why they've held out on me with this. :telephone

My thoughts exactly. I've got to think that others have been elected in similar positions and no one has called this card.

Does anyone else hear the "whop whop whop" of the spinning blades?

:D

Wayne Francis is no outsider in the organization.

You don't get appointed to the position he fills without being very, very well connected.

It just so happens that this is a plain requirement in our manual, like it or not, and has been there for years.

It is absolutely wrong to try and paint this as some kind of attempt on the part of "the man" to keep WF from being elected.

Yer ...

Do you see the white elephant sitting dead center?

I recall a certain national director resigning and being elected District Supt. within weeks ... CR .... the shenanigans are nothing new....
