Sis, the way we dress is absolutely a part of our behavior.

We are created in the image of God, and are the temple of the Holy Ghost.

Read the Bible and you will find out that God has always had strong guidelines for the appearance of the temple he dwells in.

Say a young lady is wearing a halter top and a mini skirt.

Is that a behavior?

You might say, "Well that is different since she is being immodest!"

Please give me a chapter and verse for why that is immodest.

Oh, but wait--you can't.

You made that judgment, based probably on good sense and the Holy Ghost.

There you go, judging again. :)

Modesty as a principle is important for Christians, there is a lot more to being a disciple of Christ, than outward appearance, having the fruit of the Spirit and loving one's neighbor as himself are very important as well.

Exactly, I have been guilty of that. And I will admit there are still times I do that. That's the really hard part, trying to NOT judge that way. Thankfully God has allowed me to learn some great lessons, though.

Modesty is Kosmios in the greek meaning decent or well-arranged.It also means good behaviour. So a Christian not behaving in a lewd or vulgar manner would fit the bill for modesty.

This girl needs to be taught, and clearly there is a lack of teaching on modesty, but we would not presume to automatically know her Spiritual condition much less their eternal destination.

We are admonished to "judge righteous judgment."

You better not ever stop doing it.

Anyway, I am trying to read and study what Bro. Coonskinner is posting. He gets right to the heart of the matter.

Of course being Spirit Filled, and being bible believers demand we make judgements. The Rightly divided word of God is the sole of faith for the Christian. We must know what we believe and why we believe based on the word of God,and biblical principles. We must speak where the scripture speak and remain silent where they are silent as my Church Of Christ friends say. I think the Church Of Christ is in error, but I agree with the premise of that statement. Well I've got to get ready for church, yall have a good evening.

Thank you! I have to re-teach that every time someone says, "Don't judge me!" LOL!
