I've been in Apostolic Services where people ran around the Church like they were crazy. I've seen babies stepped on, holes put in the walls, chairs kicked over, and grown adults injured.

Yeah, that some messed up junk too.

NOT FOR ME!!!!

I learned that folks who preached against christian rock and contemporary music hated contemporary and rock while in the world and their flesh loved country and western. IOW, their fleshliness carried into their later Christian convictions. Go figure. Nothing wrong with enjoying Christian versions of country music, but do not make it a conviction and heaven/hell issue!

I usually do not like the "Christian version" of anything whether it be music or a literature style. It is sort of like food. I have YET to like anything where they took an existing dish and made a more healthy version of it by substituting ingredients for "fat free". Now I have had dishes which just happened to be VERY healthy and delicious at the same time because they didn't try to copy something.

Agreed. I only liked original Christian music from non-mainstream artists generally. Though I do remember some nice covers of rock music by Christian bands. No lyric changes required. 77s did a great version of Nobody's Fault But Mine.

Guys like Steve Taylor are not, to my knowledge, copying any other artist directly. He and others have their own unique sound. Maybe it is just Christian music of the past 15 years which has me so depressed at its pure awfulness. The music is in a word, boring, with uninspired guitar strumming and even more boring rhythms.
