Um, the blessings were being with held because the pastor would not let the church pay him any money, not necessarily because tithing wasn't taught.

Coop, you can't on one hand say that Jesus fulfilled all of the law, and then turn around and say he didn't teach tithing. For Him to have fulfilled the law He would have had to tithe along with everyone else.

More importantly, did He pay tithes? :)

If He didn't then the Bible is lying when it says He fulfilled the law.

I believe that all scriptural principles regarding tithes, and any other subject should be taught today.

28 At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that year's produce and store it in your towns, 29 so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the aliens, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.

So should at the end of every third year should we today give tithes to aliens, fatherless and the widows as well, as the word of God declares?

Have you ever noticed certain scriptures on tithes are never talked about???:telephone

Here's another one for those who believe all scripture on tithe should be taught.

22Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.

23And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.

24And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee:

25Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose:

26And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,

WOW! The person was instructed to eat their own tithes before the Lord. and if the tithe was to much to carry they were to exhange it for money(tithes was substance not money) and when they got to the place God chose they were to buy WHATSEVER THEIR SOUL LUSTETH AFTER AND EAT IT.........

How do we follow this today, since we are suppose to follow ALL the bible on tithes???

Oh my word, Rico.....You are merely speculating. You have not bible proof.

He was the law maker. I never see once that he paid a tithe or even gave to the priest.

He in-fact was upset over the money makers at the temple and turned over the tables.

It said he watched the little old lady put in her two coins. It did not say he participated and gave too.

Jesus the 12 and the other followers were rebels against the Priestly system.

The priest were soon to be out of a job. Jesus was the Chief priest and law maker.

He did not come to preach law. But he fulfilled what we could not on the cross.

Did He or didn't He fulfill all the law?

Rico is correct if Jesus did not pay tithes they would have had a geniune charge that he broke the law. They had nothing.

He told Peter "Render to God the things that are God's" Just like taxes were a specified amount so does God.

Brother, people will say and do anything to not pay their tithes, even if that means making a liar out of the word of God. I am sure you know this by now, though. :)
