Who's going to the "other" minister's meeting in January??

While we all await "Tulsa Time" there is another meeting that will certainly outdraw Tulsa, called Because of the Times :hanky

I'm still uncertain if I can make it as I've been out of town too much lately.

Who, from the forum is going??

ChicagoPastor 11-28-2007 09:17 AM

too bad NLYP is no longer with us to start another "you'll never guess who's coming to BOTT" thread, this year...

Last year we went searching the crowd for TBN personalities :)

Carpenter 11-28-2007 09:21 AM

Does BOTT really conflict with Tulsa?

Wow, that is either very short sighted or very ambitious of them...

Actually, it was neither.

The guys doing the Tulsa meeting do not schedule all their events around BOTT, and don't see it as the epicenter of the Apostolic Universe.

Therefore, I doubt if they gave a minute's thought to checking with Anthony before setting a date.

They aren't competing with BOTT.

Most of the guys who will go to Tulsa would probably not put a real high priority on going to Alexandria.

Nothing against BOTT...I went once back in the 90's, and enjoyed it.

It just fulfills a different purpose and appeals to a different demographic than Tulsa.

Havent been since the early 90's My understanding these days, hard to get a hotel, seating is limited, you have to drive in from the nearest airport, everytime I wanted to go there are always some obstacle. But still is the premier preaching conference!

I wonder if Tulsa will be simulcast!!! :ursofunny

StillStanding 11-28-2007 12:24 PM

The thought just came to me that there may be spiritual comparisons since the two conferences attract different camps.

How many were slain in the spirit?

How many shockamooed?

How many recieved the Holy Ghost?

How many spoke in tongues?

How many were healed?

How many preachers were levated in mid-air while bright lights shot out of thier eyes?

We could have a spiritual olympics! :)

My dad has already got his hotel reservations and plane tickets, as well as RSVP'd to his invite to the first night reception at the Manguns house. But I personally am not going. I'm not a preacher, lol!

Then you don't know my papa very well, do you! LOL!

Much is misunderstood on the topic, I acknowledge that. (man, I thought my identity was a little more obscure that that!)

Bro. Mangun don't put BOTT on the internet. If he did I would watch it.

There is no disunity promoted at BOTT. Bro. Mangun is all about souls.

In pentecost there are only 2 types of people. 1) Those who admire the Manguns. 2) Those who are jealous of the Manguns.

Boy Dizzy, Your Daddy must really be someone special. Can I get his autograph or shake his hand?

He he he, they actually went last year!!!!!! We did try something different last year, wasn't quite the same quality but it saved a lot of dough.

A couple of years ago, TF Tenney prayed over Canada and spoke the words of an anointing "to the north" and a wave of the Holy Ghost wiped us out, it was AMAZING!!!!!!! Remember, we simulcast live and we are 1 hour past EST, so we go late. We also had my choir start the services a half hour early, then join the BOTT servic when it started. BOTT tires us out and we are a 1,000 miles away!!!!!!! weird.

We lived about 20 min away and it seemed like we still needed to be at the hotels and then I am not sure if even that would have made it work! Maybe move in the church???

The POA church members GIVE so much for this conference to be a success, it makes me so mad when I see some lightweights on this forum criticize it!!!!

The old green eyed monster I'd say...

maddy 11-29-2007 04:48 AM

POA is unbelievably the most sacrificial people I have ever encountered. It is not hard to go to BOTT, It is a matter of how important do you want your life ministered to. This is not General Conference where most people hand outside in the lobby and get caught up on seeing PEOPLE. I go every year to BOTT and there are very FEW people that get up and walk to the lobby to visit. This conference is to help ministers so ministers can actually go back to their congregations and minister to their wonderful people. If you ever get the chance to go in person you should. I went in the 90's as well, It is very different now than it was back in the day.(hipper college kids jumping in the front row all the time) It is life changing and the Manguns gain nothing except helping their fellow brother and sister. They are the most humble people I know. They serve dinner to all the speakers on Monday Night in their home. One table was in their personal bedroom at the foot of their bed, they LIVE their sacrifice and GOD has given all the increases.
