Appreciate life
To all of my AFF Family:
I don't post very often but I do log in each day and read most everything. It seems that if I know all of you who post regularly. I want to let you know that my sister was alive and sending e-mails out around 2 pm on Friday, laughing and talking with her neighbors after that. At 5 pm she was in an ambulance on the way to the hospital. By 9 pm she "coded" and was put on life support until the immediate family arrived at the hospital. I was the last to arrive and soon after I got there, they bagan the process of removing the life support and she was gone within 20 minutes. She had a perforation in her intestine. I realized just how fragile life is and how quickly we can be gone. Within 4 hours, she was no longer with us. Please appreciate life and thank God for it. We never know when this could happen to us. God Bless. |

Dear Marthaolivia, You are SO right! May the God of Peace and Comfort, ease the sorrow in your hearts at this most difficult time. On Labor Day 07, my husband and I took one of my younger brothers to lunch and spent several hours with him before he left for his home some 2 to 3 hours away. Little did we know it would be our last time to see him alive on this earth. I spoke with him on the phone on Wed. evening. On Saturday evening, Sept.8th, my husband and I attended my 50th class reunion. Many gave briefs of their lives the past 50 yrs. I stood and said I was thankful for all of our classmates being alive, with our class sponser (89 yrs old)to be together that day. Also I was thankful all ten of my sib- lings were still alive, although some had had serious health issues but God had brought them through them all. (ages 49-69). The next morning while getting ready for church, I received word that my brother, fourth from the youngest had passed from this life, just after getting off work as a prison guard. It hurt so badly but the God of all comfort has brought peace and comfort to our hearts so that we could bear it. He will also give you and your family peace for He IS the Prince of Peace. Blessings,. Falla39 |

Sorry for your loss! It makes you appreciate the health and life of your loved ones for sure!

I am very sorry for your loss. I- we, my wife and I- have gained a new appreciation for life over the past few months. Everyday is new to us in ways I can't even begin to describe. With my wifes current medical condition, I have come to think of here every wish as her last wish. "Can I have a drink of water" and similar request that I use to take for granted have become so important to me. We live in the shadow of death on a daily basis but we do not fear. We trust... we appreciate the time we have together and the life that we have. And we pray for people like you who need the touch of the Masters strong hand. May God bless you and give you comfort.

So sorry for your loss. We will also be praying for your family and that there is peace and comfort right now in Jesus name!

Martha, I'm so sorry to hear about your sister. I deal with life and the end thereof on a daily basis, but when it happens to my family, there is no preparation, even when one knows in advance. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm so sorry for you loss.
You are so right in that we don't really realize how fragile life is. Praying for you and your family. |
Martha, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Losing a loved one is hard at any time of the year and under circumstances. But to lose someone at the holiday season just seems somehow to be even harder :( Be assured, I will pray for you and for your family.
We learned the lesson of how fragile our life here on earth is on the day that Walt was taken by LifeFlight to the hospital where he had an aortic aneurism that ruptured on the table. He did survive - only by the mercies and grace of God. He is a walking miracle. Every day I understand what a gift we've been given. I treasure every minute of every day. His aorta is still dissected the entire length of it, so we never know when we will lose him. And I know for certain that when God is ready to call him, Walt is prepared. But in the meantime, we enjoy each second together. It's a hard lesson to learn. I'm grateful we've had the chance to learn it. |
Very sorry for your loss, our family will keep you and your family in our prayers.

I am very sorry for your loss, MarthaOlivia. Your sister was fortunate to have had such a wonderful sister and others in her life.
