If anyone would like to have this book I have an original copy of OF Fauss's, "Winds of God", published I believe before 1940. All I require is Postage for the book.

Most likely will not part with these, but I also have 2 Original AD Urshan books published by the AOG Publishing house in 1914. UPCI doesn't even have these.

2 Andrew Urshan Books? Tell me, brother, about the security system of your house. Deadbolt locks? Big Dog?

Just kidding Brother. I'm sure you have heard of TL Lowery. I think hes an asst. overseer of the Church of God (Cleveland, TN). At one time he was tent evangelist, held large meetings back in the day. I use to have one of his first books (an original) that concerned the subject of Divine Healing and the "signs that followed the believers". In the book, he advocated the "handling of snakes". In its early days the practice of snake handling was done in the COG. The organization never endorsed the practice, nor did they condemned it. It was incredible to have abook where Lowery actually encouraged the practice. (I doubt he holds that view today!)

I saw TLLowery on the Jim Baker show.
I have a copy of a book entitled If You Need Healing Do These Things by Oral Roberts A 1950 edition.

No, not kidding, His book of Sermons, and his life story, published by Gospel Publishing House, dated I believe 1914, these are the original deal, I talked with JL Hall a few years back, he said that HQ historical society didn't even have them, he wanted to know if I wanted to donate them. I may in the future, most likely give them to CLC Library on the condition that if the college ever closes down they must give them back to our family.

I spend every minute I can in used book stores, thrift stores, etc., just looking. Every now and then, I find some real gems. My latest find: "The Real Faith" by Charles S. Price. Would love to find some "Miracle Magazines" or "The Voice of Healing". I found a record album of A.A. Allen preaching a couple of years ago.

I also have a Song Book from AA Allen's tent meetings.

I have a piece of one of his tents. When it was taken out of use, Bro. Allen had it cut up into prayer cloths.

Now that is different! I was doing some historical research the other day on London, when King Charles I was executed, people were soaking up his blood as a momento. Of course not in the same vein as AA Allen's Tent pieces but still weird. You can see the whole fascination with pieces of the cross and parts of the saints bones that was the staple of attractional services in the Dark Ages.

This is a photo of the tent that was cut up into prayer cloths.

I'm confused.
Wasn't "Winds of God" a biography of Howard Goss and written by Ethel Goss?
I've heard of "What God Hath Wrought" by Bro. Fauss.

Sam you are so right, I am sorry, I was at work and got confused between the two. So its What God Hath Wrought that I have.

Sam 12-04-2007 07:44 PM

I read "What God Hath Wrought" years ago. I also have a copy of it on a cd from PPH.

"Winds of God" by Ethel Goss is one of the few books that I have read two or three times. I have a paper back copy (my hardback copy is long gone somewhere) and it is also available on that cd from PPH.

A couple of "oldies" that I have are:

"The Witness of God" 12 issues from Jan thru Dec 1946 published by Andrew Urshan. They contain his autobiography plus some other articles.

A series of 10 books (actually booklets) by L.R. Ooton, a pioneer OP who started preaching the HGB (Holy Ghost Baptism) in the early 1900's and then accepted the Jesus' name doctrine. I don't know when he was born or when he died. The books have copyright dates from 1968 to 1974. I may donate a couple of these to Bro. Walls because they tell of the establishment of the Pentecostal church in Medora, IN in 1915. First I want to copy some of that stuff and distribute it. Bro. Walls pastored that church for years.

I have a large collection of the Voice of Healing magazine. It's all in PDF format - though much has not been run through the OCR.

I will gladly send you copies - IF - you can persuade Keith4Him to scan those AD Urshan books. Or send them to me and I will scan them using gloved hands. LOL.

But seriously Keith- any chance of a scan of those AD Urshan books?

You know, Bro. Sam, I can pay postage and cover the cost of the disks- or send you some of the collection I have. I've got about 4 Gigs of old Healing and Holiness magazines.

I wonder if there is a way we could set up an area for items like this to be posted without breaking any copyright laws??

Scott Hutchinson 12-08-2007 06:55 PM

I for one would be interested in reading something from the Voice Of Healing magazine.
