Clash of the choirs

Did anyone watch the new program on NBC Clash of the choirs? and of course it is in the east coast......different recording artist pick from people that audition a Christmas Carol....

rgcraig 12-18-2007 10:25 AM

I watched it -- it was good.

Ann 12-18-2007 10:30 AM

check out some of the auditions on nbc.com......Patti has her church hat on...

Thad 12-18-2007 10:31 AM

Read a report this morning on it. Everyone is saying that Pattie took the show- killed it! and saw the youtube clips. Hers was the best!
Of course she is in Philly- Thru! Go Patti !!!

rgcraig 12-18-2007 10:43 AM

Patti's choir did do best, however, I'm not sure it was "her" that got them there. She had help and you could tell she didn't have a clue how to "lead" a choir.

At least the others directed their choir. I'm thinking at the end (and this was a live show) Patti was close to getting a REAL touch of God. She couldn't hardly speak when they were trying to talk to her. I think her background was coming through.

Nick did awesome in leading or directing his choir!

Ann 12-18-2007 10:53 AM

Ok,, Why is everthing on the eastcoast? Well, the eastcoast does have some good choirs....but people on the westcoast can sing, too! lol Did you see Patti in her hat?

Sandra 12-18-2007 10:55 AM

Yes , I watched it! Patty Labelle was feeling the spirit, it was powerful!!!

Yes - loved the hats.

It wasn't all east coast - the country singer's choir was from Oklahoma and Rowland's was from Texas!

No doubt. I think she was about to speak in tongues last night - her mouth was quivering and she wouldn't say anything.....I think she was scared what would come out.

I couldn't find them there either... on Utube, I only found rehearsals and stuff... not the actual performance.

mildred 12-18-2007 01:41 PM

Oh, by the way Ann, East Coast music rocks!!:christmasjig

Monkeyman 12-18-2007 02:29 PM

The Philly choir has the big gospel sound and probably will win, they have chuuuch when they sing...the houston choir is actually better fundamentaly their alto & sops are so tight you would think they have been singing together for years.

It would be like Mississippi Mass VS Kirk Franklin & Family, both great, 2 different sounds...one for church, one for studio.

That is my take...and of course I am right, he he!

OK was ok, great for Broadway, CT...well...hmmm, your high school choir is probably better...and Michael Bolton needs to button his shirt, looks like he has a cat stuffed in there, eeeew!

Actually, all the groups are lucky that Atlanta isn't in there, cuz everyone knows, thats where all the choir singers are...well, except for Merced...and Fredericton!!!

Ann 12-18-2007 03:20 PM

So you think Merced choir is good? Monkeyman do you have family in Stockton?

mildred 12-18-2007 04:10 PM

AT is awesome...when are they posting their concert (last Sun with VL ) on the web?
