The Ramp

Has anyone ever seen or heard of The Ramp? I have seen it several times, it is amazing. Great preaching and great worship. Has anyone ever been to one of there meetings?

Check it out.

It is a Karen Wheaton thing. One of the preachers Damon Thompson is awesome!

I've seen it before, the kids really seem earnest. I was impressed by it.

I agree! The heart of these kids is on another level than just about anything I have ever seen. It is almost like youth camp of steriods.

I thought you were talking about wild onions for a minute. :D

Our Jr. High pastor and his wife take their jr. high kids down about four times a year to the Ramp live. It's awesome and life changing!!! Those kids are radical for Jesus.

My girls have gone to the Ramp in AL for several years and now Karen has another one started in Cleveland, TN where Tabitha goes to college. She's been a few times and said it is really good too.

I have wanted to make the trip over to Alabama for some time now. Just haven't been able to find the time.

The broadcast is very inspiring and the preaching of Damon Thompson is better than any other on TBN in my opinion.

Bump.....

Was watching The Ramp tonight. Damon Thompson was ministering and he said some serious things. He said "The hell of hell is not the fire, but the hell of hell is the crying and the screaming voices and the seperation from the Spirit." WOWOW!!!!!!

He also said "Don't serve something or someone you have to pick up. God had picked us up and He has never and will never need to be picked up. Only serve a God that picks you up and NOT a god that you have to pick up and dust off."

This guy speaks wisdom. I am sad that people don't like or listen to him because of his "look" and his tattoo. So sad. This guy seriously is at the top of my list of preachers and he could care less if anyone likes his method of ministry except God's approval. He hits the nail on the head so often when he says that many of the preachers and ministers are insecure and co-dependant that they need the spirit to move when they are teaching or preaching, but they make sure that the spirit never moves to far from that ministers control. Deep thoughts.

Karen Wheaton started The Ramp, but she rarely has anything to do with leading it anymore. She has pretty much turned it over to this Thompson guy and he's been awesome. His preaching has radically changed the lives of many of our young people. They go every chance they get - it's not far for us.

I saw them on TBN a few times and thought it was great. I really liked the dramas and dance they did. I bought a DVD of one of the services. It was a New Years Eve service. Turned me completely off.

For probably an hour they had a group of guys banging on these african style drums; there were several kids and young adults holding flags from different countries. Each kid would take a turn at the mic talking and praying for these countries. They all basically screamed in the mic for several minutes, could barely understand what they were saying.

I dunno, since then haven't wanted to watch them.

They are a passionate group of kids. If the violent take it by force, these kids will be victorious over the darkness.

I used to really like Damon Thompson but after a while I realized that his preaching is just another breed of pentecostalism. I had always wanted to go to the ramp because it seemed like the people were really on fire but now I realize that all that is not for me anymore.

I guess you might be right, but it is not of the same breed really. He is about a lot more than just HG and Fire. He still is one of my favorite preachers. Not a bing fan of the screaming or loud voice thing, but what he has to say is awesome.
