Pray I get to keep my Baby Adley!!!!

Received a call from the birthmothers mother letting me know that she is having second thoughts.
I have really protected my heart knowing something like this could happen.
I am asking for all of you here on AFF to pray GODS will .
I need your prayers, I just don't know what I will tell Walker if we have to give the baby back. :(

rgcraig 12-29-2007 02:06 PM

Oh my.......I can't even imagine.

God, you know best and we lean on you now for your will!

rgcraig 12-29-2007 02:12 PM

Is there a time limit on when the birth mother has to change her mind?

Barb 12-29-2007 02:16 PM

Hey everyone!! Adley arrived today at 10:45 just as my plane landed in Atlanta.I drove 30 miles south to Newnun, Ga.
Adley weighed 6 pds 11.2oz. 19 1/2 inches.
I just got back to the hotel, Troy, Walker,Houston and Granny Irene will arrive here around 2:00 am,they are driving. We need to be at the hospital to meet with the social worker at 8:00. So it will be a short night. Tomorrow is a Big day, the birth mom goes home. Adley will have to stay until noon friday. Looks like we will have to stay here 5 days. Ga. law allows the birth mother 5 days to change her mind. This WILL NOT happen in JESUS NAME! If she does you will see me on the news, I am headed for the boarder. I am in LOVE with adley.
I will post more as it happens.

We are praying here too!

I do hate to be the bearer of bad news but if there is like any other state and Sandra, please do know that I am indeed praying this does not happen... but if I remember correctly and this was indeed the case in my adoption and many others I know first hand... it is not final final until 6 months.. that they have implemented the 5-7 days immediate turn around which is what Sis Falla highlighted but there is also a 6 month waiting period. :(

sherr34 12-29-2007 03:22 PM

Will be praying.

StillStanding 12-29-2007 04:19 PM

Oh my goodness! I hope everything works out for you!

dizzyde 12-29-2007 04:24 PM

I am praying, I think that AG is right, it is at least that long or longer. The courts want to give the birth mother every opportunity to change her mind, apparently. It is cruel, I think. God will have his perfect will, and I am sure there are many more people than just those on the forum that are praying for this situation.

LaGirl 12-29-2007 04:27 PM

Vicki....we are praying for you and your family!!!! Please keep us posted.

Not if they allow business days and not if it takes a court order to allow her to change her mind.

Sherri 12-29-2007 06:14 PM

Praying here, Vicki. Keep us informed!

Margies3 12-29-2007 06:29 PM

Oh, dear Vicki. We are all holding our breath with you but praying the whole time.

Let's pray that God gives this birthmother peace about the decision she has already made for Adley.

Falla39 12-29-2007 06:35 PM

I pray that our Great God who sees the future of this precious little boy

will see fit for this situation to work out according to His Will, in Jesus Name!

Blessings,

The problem is: The 5 days hasn't started, our lawyer did'nt have the papers ready when adley was born. The birth parents signed papers for us to take adley home until Jan.5th when papers will be signed. Because of the holidays everything has moved tooo slow. I just want Gods will. I don't look to hear from them until Monday. Thanks for your prayers.

praying with you Sandra. I know this is heart wrenching.

lisafitzh2o 12-29-2007 08:00 PM

As one who wants a baby soooo bad, I can't begin to imagine what you are going through.

But you are to be commended for praying "God's will". Too often is easier to kick and scream and demand our way.

I will be praying, also.

Sister Alvear 12-29-2007 08:12 PM

Vicki,

I want you to know that we are holding you up in prayer. My heart broke when I saw this post. Mike and I have been through that twice. I had a little boy for nine months and the paper work did not get done right. The mother came back the day after Christmas wanting him. We went through a court battle with no luck....six months later we signed contracts with a birth mother. I went through the entire pregnancy with her. I was at every ultra-sound, every doctors visit and was even planning successfully to nurse the baby. My mom gave me a baby shower on a Monday night. The nursery was all set. The following Saturday we were to meet for another ultra-sound, when I arrived at the hospital the girl's aunt met us there and said the "Grandmother" wanted $15,000 for the baby or they found a couple that would pay it. I called our attorney, he said, "Cheap price to pay for a baby, you better come up with it." Monday morning my mom helped us get the loan. I called and they had already given the baby to another couple. We could have challenged it in court because we had preliminary papers finished and had paid bills. She didn't change her mind. She gave the baby up. However, I realized that the other couple did not know anything about us and I didn't want them to feel the pain that I had felt. Needless to say, we did not get the baby. I thought I would lose my mind during that time. God saw me through though and now we are blessed with four beautiful healthy children. God knows the beginning from the end....sometimes it does not help the pain when you are in the fire though. We are praying for you much during this time. We do love you!

OH Sis.....I pray it all works for the best....my heart hurts for you!

Elizabeth 12-31-2007 12:26 PM

If the birth mother is talking about her senior pictures and college--sounds like she plans on doing the right thing for the baby. I know it must be hard for her, but in reality her initial decision to give the baby to you was the best thing to do!

I pray it is sinking in with her and her family the baby is where it needs to be.

Sandra 12-31-2007 04:34 PM

The birthmother just called me and was very upbeat, she expressed that she just wanted to get this over. The last thing she said was, " I love you Vicki" :D
Please continue to pray.
