The Kingdom of God

You must be born of the water and spirit to enter, Jesus describes what it's like in parables, but what is the kingdom of God? Is it the church, or the milllenial reign, or the third heaven, or the new heaven and earth, or something else?
Daniel 2:44 says "and in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom....."
Revelation 11:15 says " .....the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord ......."
It appears to me that the kingdom of God is the millenial reign. But what about the people that are left after armegeddon, they won't be born again. They won't be citizens of God,s kingdom so they won't be entered in.
Romans 14:17 says "the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit" but this describes how it is other than what it is.

We should not confuse spiritual things with earthly things: Luke 17:20-21 (King James Version)

20And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:

21Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

ah , yes, I was trying to find this passage, that would be the righteousness and peace and joy. I think the passage is referring to like the ones about the 2nd coming "noone knows the day or hour" or don't believe if someone says "it's here"or"it's there". It still seems to me that it is the millenial reign.

Rom 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Is not meat and drink - It consists not in these outward and indifferent things. It neither particularly enjoins nor particularly forbids such.

We won't need to eat and drink or have to think about any material things since we will be glorified, immortal. We will be able to eat if we want to. Jesus didn't have to eat after risen, but what better way to fellowship w/ mortals than w/ breaking of bread?

Actually I believe if you look at the verses mentioned above, you will find those that that have been "born again" (recieved the Holy Ghost)have been born into the Kingdom of God.
The Kingdom of God is not the physical and it is "within you" it is not over there, it is IN YOU!

yeah, when we are born again we recieve our citizenship, but we don't enter in until we come back w/ Jesus. The rightesousness peace joy in the Holy Spirit of the kingdom is within us, but we aren't in the kingdom yet. We're still looking through the glass darkly. Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the Bible say we're "looking for another country "(kingdom) ?

Colossians 1:13 says that we have been translated into the kingdom.

In my opinion the kingdom of God is the kingship of God. All who have submitted to Jesus as Lord and Sovereign are in that kingdom.

I definitely do not believe the Kingdom is the millennial reign. Neither Jesus nor the disciples ever said the Kingdom would come with observation, as the millennial reign teaching proposes. It does not come with observation, nor ever will. For that reason I reject the teaching of a millennial reign. It "carnalizes" the Kingdom into something physical, which is not corroborated in scripture.

We are in the kingdom now. But the reference to looking for a city is the idea that Heaven is our home. It is not physical, though.

Verse One:

Here among the shadows...[living] in a lonely land...
[With strangers] we're a band of pilgrims on the move....
Through dangers...burdened down with sorrows...
[And we're] shunned on every hand....
[But we are] looking for a city built above....

The Chorus:

Looking for a city......[yonder]...where we'll never die....
There the sainted millions....[we will] never say good by....
There we'll meet our Savior.....and our loved ones too....
Come...O Holy Spirit...all our hopes renew.....

Verse Two:

Here in disappointments...[often]..we so sadly roam..
[And earthly] friends no longer speak one word of love....
But truly...we have found contentment...
[Jesus] promised us a home....
[So we are] looking for a city built above....

Verse Three:

In this land of dangers..[we are] going here and there...
[We're simply] trusting in the blessed Savior's love...
And mercy, though we may be strangers.......
[Living] in this world of care....
[We're always] looking for a city built above....

The Chorus:

Looking for a city......yonder where we'll never die....
There the sainted millions....we will never say good by....
There we'll meet our Savior.....and our loved ones too....

The word kingdom means rule, where God rules.God rules in us by the Holy Ghost and many other places and ways now and in the future.

Luke17:20: And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: 21: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Rom.14:17: For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Math.4:17: From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Math.24:14: And this gospel of the kingdom (the Holy Ghost In you) shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Math.4:23: And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom,(the Holy Ghost in you) and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

Mark.9:1: And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom (the Holy Ghost)of God come with power.

Mark12:34: And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom (From receiving the Holy Ghost)of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.

Luke10:9: And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom (the Holy Ghost)of God is come nigh unto you. 10: But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say, 11: Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom (the Holy Ghost)of God is come nigh unto you.

Luke11:20: But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom (of the Holy Ghost) of God is come upon you.

Acts2 :1: And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2: And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3: And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4: And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost (the kingdom of God), and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

16: But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; 17: And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: 18: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

Acts2:37: Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38: Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.39: For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. 40: And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Amen. We agree on this truth.

maybe I'm not being clear, yes God's kingdom is in the spiritual(God is a spirit), but how does believing that His kingdom can come in the physical "carnalize" it? God was manifest in the flesh, did that "carnalize God?Doesn't the Daniel and Revelation in my first post, plus Isaiah 2;4and 11:6-8 prophesy a future physical kingdom?

Carnality is not necessarily wrong. Gnostics believe the physical is inherently evil, but that is not true. So, anything made physical can rightly be said to be "carnalized" -- something our physical flesh can relate to.

So it is not a negative thing to say the kingdom is "carnalized" if indeed it is going to be made physical one day. I see no scripture to support that idea, and rather see scriptures that refute it. But saying something is "carnalized" is not degrading it.

Quote:

God was manifest in the flesh, did that "carnalize God?
Yes! :) And that was not a wrong or bad thing. John spoke of no man seeing God, but noting that believers loving one another is the next best thing! That is carnalizing the unseen, and is needed!

Quote:

ARPH :doggyrun
No. I do not believe so. I believe Christ's words refute a physical kingdom. It does not come with observation. And he never said it ever will. And that cannot contradict anything else the rest of the bible says. Whoever said it must be physical according to Daniel, Revelation and Isaiah? I believe people misinterpret those passages to make the kingdom physical.

God bless!
