Walt's trains. In case anyone is interested

Just for fun. If anyone is interested, you can see a slide show of Walt's train room at

http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...h_P1011782.jpg

If you click on the little picture, you will go to Photobucket and see the whole slideshow.

WOWOWOW!!! That's a great collection, Walt.

That is so cool. I've always wanted to set something like that up. I'd have to set up a "Gospel Tent" right in the middle of town. Gotta keep things Pentecostal, you know. LOL. That is reaaly cool, though. Love the pictures!

Margies3 01-01-2008 08:22 PM

Larry, I'm glad you like them. Trains have been Walt's passion for his entire life. He started collecting them seriously when he was just a kid. Then when we moved into this house, he took one of the garages and made it into a room so he could have a 'train room'. It is now wall-to-wall trains!! He LOVES to spend time out there. And I love that he is happy and at home. I've never had to worry about where he was spending his evenings :)

That is neat! I like Trains both model & real.
When I was a kid playing down at Vancouver's docks, I got to ride up in the Locomotive while they marshaled boxcars around.

Is that in your basement?
It must have taken a long time.

Glad to hear Walt is doing great!

WOW, I love Lionel Trains, I have collected and sold them mostly over the last few years, there is a thrift store in Town that occasionly gets them. I built a train table about 7 years ago. Its a hard hobby, room and expense and when you get hooked it hard to stop. Thanks for sharing it.

A song comes to mind as I watch the slideshow again...

"It’s a beautiful day in this neighborhood,
A beautiful day for a neighbor,
Would you be mine? Could you be mine?

It’s a neighborly day in this beautywood,
A neighborly day for a beauty,
Would you be mine? Could you be mine?

I have always wanted to have a neighbor just like you,
I’ve always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.

So let’s make the most of this beautiful day,
Since we’re together, we might as well say,
Would you be mine? Could you be mine?
Won’t you be my neighbor?

Won’t you please, won’t you please,
Please won’t you be my neighbor?"

Ferd 01-02-2008 06:26 AM

I was just thinking that my husband would be so jealous. He has a small collection of trains that he has started getting Michael interested in, but nothing like that!

Margie, thanks for sharing the slideshow. I'll have to let Michael take a look at it when he gets finished with his breakfast. He loves trains.

Mrs. LPW 01-02-2008 10:16 AM

Did you get to show Walt the christmas tree with the trains actually on the tree? I forget whose tree that was but it was impressive.

Phil, I think you must be talking about Monkeyman's tree video. I went back and found it so I could show it to Walt tonight, but it won't work for us :( Rats!!

I'm glad that you all have enjoyed seeing Walt's train layout. He is very proud of it. and I am very proud of HIM. :)

Sherri 01-02-2008 09:51 PM

I just saw this......VERY COOL!

commonsense 01-02-2008 10:10 PM

Very impressive set up. I know it's a lot of work. Thanks for sharing.

We started several years ago with the plywood and a few tracks and trees. Our initial enthusiasm didn't last and when we moved we donated our pitiful collection to a neighbor with a large garage and a young son.
