Gusts of 107 mph were measured on Kregor Peak near Clayton in Contra Costa County, the weather service said. The wind hit 70 mph on the Golden Gate Bridge, 78 mph on Angel Island and 76 mph on Twin Peaks in San Francisco

I thought the 35-40 MPH wind gusts that we had here the other day were bad. The wind flipped my covered swing over the side railing of the deck and left it upside down in the yard.

I can't even imagine having winds over 100 MPH.

We have had HEAVY winds all day, (there is a tumbleweed convention going on outside our church fence as I speak!), and the forcast is for 3 major storms over the weekend. This is a way south from there!

I've even heard one forecaster say that our usual rainfall is 1/3 inch of rain per , and this coming storm could bring as much as 3 inches. Not good news as I live in flash flood territory.

You can type in Google- What is the weather for <city>? and it will have links to weather underground.

weather.unisys.com has great maps available too. Not for dialup!

We call them tornados in TX. I slept through one once. Had one a few months ago that tore a neighbors house up but we didn't even have any trees damaged. We had a very devestating one a couple of years ago but no lives lost. I hid from one in Wal Mart one night but it didn't touch down there.
We are use to them here.
