I hate Pepsi- Free or not.

Christmas Eve, we had planned a 16 course meal with I think 5 kinds of pie. MrsB then decided to top it off, we NEEDED ice cream. I was game- for at 6 PM there are fistfights from some liquored up or some simply overstressed at what should be a happy day off. I wanted to go and simply see the show. I get out of my car, and instantly the joker beside me hops out screaming I bumped his car with my door- "It is a NEW car- YOU need to WATCH what YOU are doing."
Inside the store I thought must be really fun if someone is crankly sitting in a car. I apologized and showed him I did have a rub strip and I am so sorry.....

Inside and nothing. No fights, nothing. At the register, I get my 2 cartons of Vanilla Bean and asked what coupons it spit out.... one was 50 cents off. I turned to the lady behind me and said, "here you go, have a Merry Christmas!"
Then the clerk hands me a free Pepsi. "Maam, I don't do Pepsi, would you like this too?"

I hate the stuff. I drink Coke Zero (even though I have been taste confused).

The next trip, it spits out a coupon for Free Pepsi Max - Bleech more Pepsi, I hate this stuff. Wait, what is Max? Double caffiene, extra ginseng.
:hmmm could be interesting.

So I go tonight to hit the ATM to deposit some checks. I get my free Pepsi 2 Liter after noting it is 88 cents. I head to checkstand number 1. The dreaded blue is scanned and rings in at $1.89 plus California Resource of 10 cents (bottle deposit, only in CA you don't get anything back ever). I am asked to enter my phone number. I do so, and reach in my pocket to pay the 10 cents.
Trouble is, last month my daughter got coupons in the mail. I am equal opportunity free so I called Safeway's home office asking for my booklet of $2 off a lot of things I probably would not use anyway. I am told I cannot get them- they are sent random. "Hold on, my daughter spends $30 on a good week. She eats at my house, and I spend MUCH more on her groceries, yet she gets free coupons. What is fair about this?" The person on the line was nice and apologized and gave me an offer of 10% off for an entire month. 10% off all my groceries, even sale items! If I wanted that..... I thought about a nanosecond and took the offer.
Back to Free Pepsi. See it scanned $1.89, then the 10% kicked in giving back 9 cents, then he scanned the coupon and it took off $1.89 instantly. The registered wanted to pay me 94 cents! I said, "uh, it was only 88 cents, they are on sale." He fiddled some and finally voided it again and did it again. Same story, and this time cha-ching. The change drops and he said that is what it insisted on accepting. "it won't work any other way."

I still hate Pepsi.

I loveeeeeeeeeeee Pepsi. There is something seriously wrong with your taste buds, buddddddd. Coke is for sissies. :)~~~~~

SoCaliUPC 01-05-2008 11:30 PM

I like Diet Pepsi. Pepsi itself (and Coke) is too sweet.

However, my drug of choice is Dr. Pepper. LOL!

commonsense 01-05-2008 11:43 PM

Diet Coke all the way, but you have to tolerate diet pepsi since so many restaurants only offer "one". I'll drink diet Pepsi but never buy it at the grocery store.
Coupons can be a trip in itself. Last month I used a rewards card for a local discount merchant. You got 20% off that day only on all purchases if you had their card. Now a month later I get a check in the mail for 50 cents. (lol) It appears they overcharged tax, not deducting for the rewards offfer.
Now what can I buy with 50 cents???

LadyChocolate 01-05-2008 11:46 PM

NO soda's please! ugh! :vomit sodas are baaad! but if you like them, go for it!!! i don't mind. :)

I will take iced tea... in fact, a black iced tea lemonade from starbucks! thankyou!!!

I choose coca cola classic over pepsi. Diet Pepsi over Diet Coke. The bigger question is bottle or can?

Oh my...I agree with this totally!!

The best Coke is that in a glass bottle, but alas, this is a plastic world...

So, if it is fountain soda, I prefer it with ice and no straw...if it is bottle or can, I use a glass with no ice.

I am fussy when it comes to my Coke...I want it ice cold...

Fonix 01-06-2008 07:24 AM

I prefer Diet Pepsi over any cola drink. I tried Diet Pepsi Max but still prefer the old stuff.

rgcraig 01-06-2008 07:55 AM

Now Boom that was just too good - - you got paid .94 to drink a free Pepsi!

marthaolivia 01-06-2008 09:00 AM

Pepsi is the only cola in my home. I prefer Pepsi One because it has 1 calorie and it tastes good. Now if I could get a bargain on Coke like BOOMM did on Pepsi, I just might be persuaded to switch.....

Cindy 01-06-2008 09:49 AM

At Pizza Hut they sometimes give you a free 2 liter Pepsi with your order...
BOOMM it's so wrong to hate......(tic).

The Mrs 01-06-2008 09:50 AM

Way to go Boom!!! You're on your way to making the switch! :yahoo

How does it feel to have a pocket full of change? :toofunny

RevBuddy 01-06-2008 11:23 AM

BOOM!!!!

I'm sooooo excited...I agree with you 100%! Pepsi is soooo bad, any way they sell it...

Thanks for reinforcing this long-held belief...

Sister Alvear 01-06-2008 01:42 PM

I had rather have coke...but oh well...whatever...

Ron 01-06-2008 01:53 PM

Pepsi is a Coke wannabe.
There is a reason that they call Coke "The Real Thing!"

Pepsi is too sweet!

Pepsi is indeed my drink of choice, followed closely by Dr. Pepper. However, as Parson can attest, I prefer the Dr. Pepper from the bottling company in Dublin, Texas. They do not use syrup. PURE cane sugar. It is a different taste all together from the common Dr. Pepper.

Coca Cola is ok, Pepsi is preferred.

You are just not right

We have 4 days of prayer meetings this week. You will be on the list.

Cindy 01-06-2008 02:12 PM

I live in a rural town, there is only one pizza joint here. Every once in a while Papa John's sends a chuck wagon here from Tyler and sets up in the parking lot of the dollar store. That is a whole nother pizza........YUMMY

Um, Bro. Ron, could you face the other way please?

Diet Dr. Pepper
Diet Coke
Diet Cherry Pepsi/Cherry Coke
Diet Pepsi Lime
Diet Mountain Dew Code Red
Diet Dew
Diet Pepsi
Diet Mug/AW

In order of prefference. Diet doesn't make much difference of Coke/Pepsi. Pepsi Max is nasty.

But regular Pepsi tastes waaaaaaaaay better than Coke. COKE is what is too sweet.

Y'all do know that diet drinks are not only nasty tasting, they only work if you eat something from McDonalds..........http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f3...mutthehe-1.gif

Cindy 01-06-2008 02:41 PM

I try to stay out of Tyler as much as possible. People don't obey traffic lights very well there. And they speed.

Well, as Rush Limbaugh would say, for those of you living in Rio Linda, Boom lives a sheltered life.

So you know Dr. Knight? He is a good man. I really like his wife too. :) Or are you talking about Dr. Abbott? He is great too. I saw him at Wal Mart the other day.

Abbott...great guy.

Margies3 01-06-2008 03:38 PM

BOOM, I'm sitting here figuring this out and here's what I've come up with...............

If you had gone back and bought.......say.........100 bottles of that pop, and got your 94 cents back for each one, you coulda paid for your whole week's groceries AND had pop that you could have shared with your church youth group. Kid's will drink anything, you know.

Actually Coke is much more potent and is awesome diet with lime. I hate the syruppy sweet taste with lack of fizz in pepsi products.:ouch

Cindy 01-06-2008 07:50 PM

If there was a smiley that would express my thoughts about Coke......
But the thing about all that "fizz" is it makes some people have a hard time keeping quiet about it..........:)

I think my daughter is taking a job in Lindale (or Garden Valley actually). It's at Teen Mania, and I think she will start in February if all goes as planned. I hope it's a nice area.
