Will there be dogs in heaven??
Now, please don't laugh- this is a serious question!!
I have a Great Aunt whose dog died after 19 years...she rescued this dog before it was old enough to be weaned from his mama, and bottle fed it until it could eat food. She could never have children, so this dog was 'her baby' for 19 years... She was crying about it and saying that she was glad she would see it in heaven. Weeelllll....some well meaning soul took it upon themselves to tell her that was not the reality of the situation, and my Great Aunt responded with this..."If there are gonna be lions and lambs up there- then I am for certain, there will be dogs. It may not be my CoCo, but if there are dogs at all, then I will be content..." !!!!!!! Any thoughts or comments?? I had never thought about it one way or the other... Of course, I know of at least ONE poster who would be happy if there were a few good COON dogs up there!!! :heeheehee |
No.

My first thought is..no dogs in heaven.
God has prepared so much better for us there than we have here. Which brings me to this question..how good will the fishing be in heaven? |

I think that if God created all of these wonderful creatures that we share earth with, and He made them sinless, then why would we assume there would be none in heaven? I understand the theory that animals have no soul, therefore can't go to heaven. But if God thought they were good enough for earth, I'm thinking He might enjoy having some laying around the streets of gold as well. But that's just MY opinion. I guess we won't really know until we actually arrive - which I'm hoping is not right away. As much as I wantt o go there, I still love it here as well. |
My dachshund will go to dog heaven.

Also i can't think of any scripture that leads me to believe animals go to heaven...but then i can't think of one that says they don't either. So believe what makes ya happy I guess.....just don't try to say the bible says so. :ty |
I dont think there will be animals in heaven, except the four beasts that fly around the throne and the white horses we come back on. Besides, I dont think we'll be there for long, since we're coming back to earth with Jesus. I don't believe the 2nd coming is a long way off. There will be plenty of animals here for us during the 1000 yr reign.

I believe God has will have whatever he wants.
He saved animals in the Ark... I know some of them were to repopulate the earth. However if he saved them once. Why not again. He used animals in many of this stories. Why not have the Lion sitting next to a Lamb in Glory? There simply is no scriptures for anyone to say.....No. |

I originally thought that all dogs go to heaven, and I had a basset hound (Basil (as in Basil Rathbone)) that went directly to lie at the foot of Peter's post when he died. My other basset (Dudley) was the only living thing I felt needed to work his way into heaven during his last years because the first part of his life...well...I think he finally made it in. My poor bubbas, I miss em. |
Since dogs don't have souls don't they just decompose?

Don't know about dogs but there are horses in heaven .....
Revelation 19 The Rider on the White Horse 11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter."[a] He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.. |
Mom used to say that we could slide down the necks of giraffes, pet lions, and fly with eagles...what a cool way to let kids relate to heaven somehow...
:bliss |
It looks as if we have reached yet another impasse...LOL
Frankly, I don't care one way or the other about there being animals in heaven- I have heard that there would be- but, I believe once over there nothing else will matter, but seeing the face of Jesus....JMHO It IS difficult to comfort the 'feeble minded' at times, though. |
I don't know about animals in heaven, but I do hope (and kinda believe) there will be animals on the New Earth. Would be great to wander through the hills and valleys of the New Earth with my old dog.

No dogs in heaven I don't think, but I think there will be animals in the new earth.

17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. KJV If a man is in Christ, it says that "ALL" things become new... so we're in the new earth already.... yep... I've got three dogs.... Jerry Moon |
Well while we are reigning with Christ for 1000 years I would just imagine there will be lots of animals...

Isa 11:6-9
6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. 7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. 8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. 9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. KJV Isa 65:24-25 25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD. KJV |
