I am totally freakin' now! My apartment has been broke into twice and I reported it to the police. This month I left my rent in the drop box on New Years Day [office was closed] and I just got a call saying my rent, along with 6 other's rent was stolen fromt he drop box and we had to pay again regardless or be evicted.

I feel like I am in white trash hell and am drowning in the manure. There is only so much you can blame on the devil, or is there?:scripture

I think we give the devil WAYYYY to much credit sometimes.

People are just stupid, mean and lazy...among other things of course.

I think I am going back to Florida.

You could move to a trailer park and wait for a tornado...........lol

If possible, Rhoni, I would seriously consider finding another place to live!

Did you pay with a check? did you cancel that check or did it get cashed?

Seriously, something's just wrong there. Bad wrong.

If the check was stolen and then cashed, the bank will investigate and credit your account.

Thats what I was thinking too.

This looks like a smart woman to me. I don't believe she would have done THAT! THAT would be advertising to the world, "Help yourself to my money, all of it." Of course, they usually do. Surprise! Surprise!

I was thinking that too.

Now you are out $35-$40 to stop payment on the first check. I would make them pay that or deduct it from your rent check.

FYI, I paid with money orders because they were closed on New Years Day and I didn't want my payment to be late. As we speak the police are at the apartments and the manager is filing a report.

I purchased the money orders at our local Walmart...they had them on record [I was the last customer 12/31/07] and I had to pay $12.00 to file a report of stolen M.O. and then it takes 30-65 days to get a refund.

I called the Management Corporate office and told them what happened. They were aware and said, "Can't you pay the rent again and keep it when you get reimbursed?" I said, "Of course I can if I don't go on my Holy Land Trip".

She said she would try to work something out. ***DUHH**

I think this old world is on the jagged edge, or maybe it is just me. Regardless...the devil don't want me to go to Jerusalem...hummmm

This is very messed up! Wow... they seem like very nice apartments other than the ummm well lack to have it ready when you moved in seemed a very nice place! This is sad and I fell very bad for you having to go thru this! I am praying.. I know that prayers dont make it not feel bad but just know I am... God will work out the rest about the trip I know he will! This will be a wonderful thing for you and I dont believe he would take that away from you in any way.

God in heaven direct the footsteps of his beloved. It is probably not his will that you go to the HOly Land, though as exciting and wonderful as it may be. There may be a good reason that you may be prevented.

Don't accept the victim role. Give God glory and thank him for having chosen to guide you by this method.

The God I know does not purposely make bad things happen to alter your course. I think God would choose a less stressful and more positive way to change my mind about the trip.

On the other hand, I think the devil puts these negative situations in place to stop God's purpose and God just opens another door. It is His opportunity to plan a miracle.

I am getting my equilibrium back...I am just so tired...the Bible tells me not to be weary in well-doing...but in the last days the devil will be wearing us out...and we are near about there in my book.

That is a frustrating situation. I'd lock up the valuables when you're away. Most crimes are crimes of opportunity. Just playing the odds, there is a good chance that the management may have a "problem tenant" or a problem relationship of some kind.

Also, not to compound your concerns: you're not going to Jerusalem this week are you? The "Tourist-in-Chief" is traveling there. Going after his visit might be excellent timing because most idiots with a point to make will have already tried.

I would put demands on the management to increase security or move. Also, how did they break in? Door? Do you have a deadbolt? Window? Go to home depot with measurements of the windows and get sticks to put in them.

Also for windows you can have someone drill holes in them and then put these little clamps that keep them from opening the windows.

If they are literally breaking the door down or the windows and nobody is saying anything then get out.

Can you have animals? If so get a small yapping dog like a chiuaua

Or you can by a cheap indoor alarm that has a movement sensor. You don't even need to install it. They sell them at Homedepot.

It never cost me that much to stop payment or cancel the check.

Sister....that is absurd. All they care about is their payment? Did they give any assurances they were gonna increase security?

I've rented Apartments before. A lot of time the crime is someone that lives in the same complex and that problem is because the stupid management does not care who moves in. Your Apartment being broken into twice is ONE too many times, let alone twice. I'd give the management a piece of my mind and threaten to leave. Tell them they need to get a security guard to make regular rounds.

My bank charges $35.

Yep here too.. no matter why 35 for me to get a check cancelled... and when we had our church in okc.. it was 50 for business checks no matter... wild huh?

This all points to an inside job...Rhoni, can you make more noise to the mgmt. company about all of the incidences? I know it takes a lot of effort, but ya gotta do something yourself to get justice these days. Bummer.

When I got home there was an eviction notice on the door. The director of the management company said they were installing a new drop box with security cameras. I called the security guard both time I was broke into and he never responded. I called the local police. But enough is enough.

I am canceling my trips and putting in my 60 day notice to leave this complex. I am sure I'll never get a deposit back. I feel like throwing up.

Truly, sometimes things that really stink happen to us. I think that stinks, and I wouldn't trust that management.

God knows that moving is the last thing I want to do. All I have wanted for the past 5 years is family and stability and I have nothing.

I can't just twitch my nose and things happen. There is money, and then there is money, and then there is time, and opportunity.

I heard a sermon a year or so again about being stuck between a rock and a hard place. I forgot what they said to do.

Have you thought that the Lord might see down the road a bit when your apartment is broken into and you are there. This could all be happening to PROTECT you from what COULD happen.
