Exciting day!

We just had the first steel beam go up on our new 28,000 sq. foot educational facility.

This building will house all of our childrens and teen ministries; classrooms, youth chapel, evangelist quarters, ect. We are so excited, it should be complete by this summer!

Thats awesome!!! We are the same way! We just had the cement go down on our parking lot!!! It doesnt look like a 1/2 mile dirt drop now!!! Soon as we get this finished we start on phase 2 and then on and on... 6 phases to go... all will be done debt free!!!

parking lot

staff office building and school

church

youth facility

and something else I cant remember...

All I know is if they dont hurry they gonna have to revamp the plans before we build as we had like 100 chairs last sun and growing and all the youth had to stay on the platform and well it was interesting... the parking lot is a blessing as right now they are busing people from 3 other locations and some are parking at the grocery store and just walking,, not fun when you have 300 parking places and run close to 1000 LOL... but we grew so fast we couldnt help the parking situation

Dizzy,
What is the name of the student ministry that will be housed there? I wish I could be a part of something like that. Is there anything that big in your city?

The student ministry that will be housed there is called "Gravity Student Ministries"...

It is my understanding that this will be one of the biggest youth facilities in our city.

We had something similar happen, we were going to relocate, and had purchased new property, and we started getting offers for the new property.

We were not trying to sell it, but we had bought it right before a huge jump in our local housing market. Finally the offers were so ridiculous, that we went back to the drawing board and looked at our current facility and figured out a way to remodel and build at our current location (part of the new structure will be on a second story) that would meet our needs, and sold the property for a 1.4 million profit!

We have been extremely blessed.

Years ago we had a nice property that we were outgrowing so we sold it and bought another piece of land. Before we could build there, someone offered us a huge amount for it so we sold.

Then the church we were at temporarily kind of folded up. (It was a Baptist church). They really liked how we treated their property and their pastor really loved our pastor so in the end, they sold us their property (like 4 acres in the middle of North Dallas) for way under market value.

Now it has been 10 years or more and we have gotten an offer that we cant refuse and at the same time found another property on the corner of a major road and a major highway in Far north Dallas for half what we are selling for.

In the end, we will have a new church and 4 acres and no debt.
