StMatts Letter to KH

Get over it and move on!!! If its not of God, it will come to naught. If it is from God, you will find yourself fighting the One, instead of the six. Tell all these UPCI preachers to quit writing letters, and get to preaching and winning the lost!

Signed,

StMatt

PS - you can forward this or share it with anyone you like. :)

It's like I told some UPC men on this site, they are so mad and bitter it's going to end up hurting them, not those that pulled out!

Has there been any letters from the Tulsa side towards the UPCI, or is this letter writing campaign onesided?

So what do you think? Do you think it is of God or of man?

I personally think it will stand- they have alot of people invested in it and it might actually make the UPCI a better organization to be in!

There have been letters from conservative men (G. Travis, J. Carney, Howard Davis, and ??) asking that they not do this.

For one of the '6' to write they would have to defend their action of calling, writing, and trying to get people to join them from UPC.

They have the right to do as they wish, but cross the line when they keep sending mail to my house.

PastorD 01-14-2008 11:58 AM

I do like the letter Matt....let's send her around the world!

:happydance

Paul and Barnabas had a huge falling out in Acts 15.. but God still blessed both Paul's and Barnabas' ministry when they went their separate ways. As long as Christ is preached, and God is glorified, that's all that matters.

I wish them the best, but if they were going to be unhappy, and possibly even bitter, staying with us after the TV resolution, it might be best for all involved for them to go their separate ways.

It's easier to send a blanket letter than to call a hudred Pastors personally and then stay on the phone with them for an hour. It's a little more sensbile too.

gulfcoastbrother 01-15-2008 11:58 AM

I hardly consider James Carney conservative.

How did they ever get any work done for Jesus?

I think it's appropriate to use all levels of media, (TV, Internet, Phone, Mail) to get out the message of Jesus Christ.

Research shows that these media work! That is why companies will pay more than million dollars for a 30 second commercial during the superbowl.

Have a nice day.

Here's a sobering thought... if they tried to reach their world with the means they had... how much more are we on the hook with all the ways and means we have?

To my knowledge, they didn't us any means other than preaching the gospel to reach their world. The bible is primarily letters to saints, not an outreach tool to sinners.

The fact that that 120 could go and turn a city with a very large population upside down lets me know that our FEEBLE attempts to evangelize our cities is lacking something.

Anyway, I see KH's letter basically calling these men "not of God" a little sad.

My point was we've got a great responsibility with the use of planes and automobiles and internet simulcasting to reach the Lost... no excuses that we only had our feet...
I'm not sure what you thought I meant... but the above is what I meant.

About the letter writing... you said people should stop writing letters... so I said... Paul and Peter wrote many.. to the saints..as you yourself said... my point exactly. Nothing wrong with ministers writing letters as they see fit.

Ferd 01-16-2008 11:59 AM

Ferd’s letter to KH

Yes.. Ferd.. it's all good. When StMatt wrote this I decided to respond because it's my leadership and some good men of God who have written letters that were well meaning, and called for during this time in our particular organization.

I had written with a light heart until my last post... in which I felt StMatt was misunderstanding my point and that I should probably make it completely clear.

My statement that we have a more ways and means and no excuses for not reaching our world was not aimed at anyone in particular but to us all.. it was off topic with letter writing thread/theme... but it came to my mind when someone mentioned that we now have internet, phones, etc.
