Attention everyone
This is a tantrum.
Hover over it. :tantrum It is not laughing. It is crying and screaming. :killinme |
yes sir, the agony on his face shows that! :) and it looks like my children the first and only time they did it! :)

oh yes, the child and his tantrum
a nice little demonstration of my nice friendly switch (for the young ones here, it's a small skinny branch of a tree) cured it! I may have seen it once, but only once! LOL |

At what age can you start applying the rod of correction to the seat of the pants?
Because my little two year old is bringing new meaning to the term "terrible twos" |

Recently she was visiting at my house (I am POP) and got put on the spot. After about 30 seconds of sitting on the spot in silence she put her face in her hands, folded over and put her hands on her knees and then started saying "I need HELP. Somebody HELP me. POP why won't you HELP me!" It was all I could do not to run over there and grab her up and "HELP" her! :D |

I do want to add concerning the spankings: I did spank my children when they were younger and now they are between 5-10 and I can take them anywhere and not have problems. I can't tell you how many times I have been complimented on how well my chilren act at the table or in the store. My boys automatically open doors for ladies they don't even know. But it started when they were little. It was a trying time for me but it sure did pay off! of course, we still have those teenage years to go.:sad |

Daane's got a very strong will, as most do at that age I think. He gets put in the crib for two minutes when he's bad and he just howls! I've only "skited" his bum a couple of times... both when he kicked me over and over while changing his diaper. He stopped. .needless to say. My parents never used anything but their hand.. and boy does that sting! Bro Phil... Daane was two Oct 2nd... my baby Asher was born Oct 6th. If my husband finds out your grand-daughter is beautiful he'll want to set them up. He's already picked out a couple future wives... I hope Daane doesn't marry them all!!!:toofunny His other stipulation for our sons future wives is wealth. :toofunny (he's only being HALF serious :toofunny ) |
Hahaha. I love her expression in the first pic! she is adorable!

That first picture... too cute!!! Nothing any cuter than a toddler who can get their point accross with a "look".
She is very pretty! I'll have to try to post a picture of Daane... most of my files are huge though. |

The key to the timeout or on the spot treatment is that he time (2 minutes) does not start until there is silence... no whining on the spot! thanks for the compliments about my girl Gotta go ... church tonight.. ya'll be blessed and I will pray for Daane.... and his mommy! :D |

I well remember the "switch" that my grandmother would use on my bare legs. I did spank my kids but consistency is the key. Now I can't stand to see my grandbabies get the "spoon" . Time out works wonders. And you are correct Bro. Phil, time starts when there is silence and stillness.

I also do not believe in mixing correction or punishment. And for little ones always get down to their level so you are not standing over them. And a lot of parents get frustrated with little ones thinking they understand more than they actually do. Their thought processes are not mature yet. If you are frustrated or angry you cannot correct a child. And always let them know that you love them and that is why they are being corrected.

Oh, I have heard of people saying that.........I really even as a child could not stand to see another person get a spanking. It just broke my heart. I guess that's why it's hard to see my grandbabies get in trouble now.....

Funny how that works! My mother in law doesn't fit the mold though... She was soft on her kids and is MUSH on her grandkids... I had the hardest time training my husband to behave properly. :toofunny The switch works sometimes on him. The rest of the time I put him in his crib for 34 minutes (one minute for each year) |

I have never understood sending a kid to their room if they a full entertainment center in it. Wow, big punishment. I have heard of parents removing everything but the bed out of a room for older kids with behavior problems. |

My little munchkin hasn't learned how to climb out of his crib yet.. so I'm still set! |
