I did a Google search of the song title and this link came up:
http://pratie.blogspot.com/2005/06/s...your-hair.html The man who wrote this song in 1927 was a blind man and he followed this smash hit up with "Why Do You Bob Your Hair, Girls #2 in 1929...Anyone know anything about that one? http://sniff.numachi.com/~rickheit/d...tWHYBOBHR.html (Sheet Music) Here is the song on a Tribute to "the Blind Alfred Reed": http://music.yahoo.com/release/54026738 |

Re: A SONG FOR RENDA - - By Caston Smith
I thought this was a joke..... Someone "Caston-like" singing, but no, it is legit.
Right now, I am formulating a song in my head, to be sung as a rebuff.... Set to the theme from the Beverly Hillbillies. One other point. I think he looks much better in the video -less stiff, then he did on his avatar photo. |
Re: A SONG FOR RENDA - - By Caston Smith

Re: A SONG FOR RENDA - - By Caston Smith
I don't know what to say to that & still remain a Christian.
I can say this though, have they ever heard of proper lighting? That southern drawl reminds me of PO somehow?:hmmm :bolt |
Re: A SONG FOR RENDA - - By Caston Smith
Yes I am not sure if you have been duly informed or not MissBrat but Renda and I are the worst Jezzies around sayeth the gospel of Caston! Oh for shame!

I listened up to 1 minute 54 seconds. I couldn't stand the torture any longer.
Somebody give him money for voice lessons. Dora, here's a prospective new student for you. :D |
Re: A SONG FOR RENDA - - By Caston Smith
Has anyone noticed how the men are the ones who are usually standing around talking more after church?
What about a song called, "Why do you flap your lips, boys? Why do you flap your lips"?....Some might even use the terms, "Why do you flap your jaws" or Why do you flap your mouth? Anyone feeling creative? |
Re: A SONG FOR RENDA - - By Caston Smith

Here are the words: WHY BOB YOUR HAIR, GIRLS Why do you bob your hair, girls? You're doing mighty wrong; God gave it for a glory And you should wear it long . You spoil your lovely hair, girls, You keep yourself in style; Before you bob your hair, girls, Just stop and think a while. Why do you bob your hair, girls? It is an awful shame To rob the head God gave you And bear the flapper's name. You're taking off your covering, It is an awful sin; Don't never bob your hair, girls, Short hair belongs to men. Why do you bob your hair, girls? It does not look so nice; It's just to be in fashion, lt's not the Lord's advice. And every time you bob it You're breaking God's command You cannot bob your hair, girls And reach the Glory land. Why do you bob your hair, girls? It's not the thing to do; Just wear it, always wear it, And to your Lord be true. And when before the judgment You meet your Lord up there, He'll say, "Well done, for one thing, You never bobbed your hair. From Ozark Folksongs, Randolph. Collected from Laura Wasson, Ark., 1942 Note: Written by Blind Alfred Reed and recorded by him in 1927. |
