Question For Americans
Why is it when I call someone and it either goes to a call centre in the States, head office in the States, or Branch office in the States the conversation is abrupt like this:
Me: "Hi, how are you today?" Them: "Fine, how can I help you?" (all said curtly & abruptly!" A call centre, or head office, or branch office in Canada goes something like this: Me: "Hi, how are you?" Them: "Fine thanks, how are you?" (nice voice) Me: "Not to bad, there is a lot of snow here today, we aren't used to that! Them: (Laughter) I bet you are not used to it where you are, my call display shows that you are in Vancouver, in Toronto last night it snowed 15 CM & is minus 30!" The conversation cab go on like this for a few minutes depending on if it is busy or not. It seems the Americans don't banter at all in friendly talk. Has anyone else seen this, is it a policy? Is there a lack of fiber in diets?? Why the crankiness?:hypercoffee |
Re: Question For Americans
It's the foreigners that are driving the cabs and answering the phones.

It is just my experience of about two to one you will get some one I described. BTW, the description is curt & business like. Not mean & nasty. |
