Sorry...I guess it's a southern thing. The furthest south I have been was San Diego

Scott Hutchinson 03-13-2007 08:49 PM

PRAX don't apologize everybody can't live in God's country.

ChTatum 03-13-2007 08:59 PM

Great things about Georgia? Way too many to list. I am 2 hours from the mountains and 3 hours from the beach.
I live far enough out where all my neighbors can't hear me yell from my back deck, and I can be in a mid-size town in 30 minutes (Athens), and a large city (Atlanta) in less than 90 minutes!
The absolute greatest group of people in the world allow me to be their pastor!

Georgia, sweet Georgia, the whole day through.....

ThePastorsCoach 03-13-2007 09:00 PM

ATLANTA, GEORGIA - My Home Town and I absolutely love it more than any place I have ever lived in my life!

NOT!
She is an excellent cook, but not "country" food. She is originally from Rhode Island.

The best place for bbq is Famous Dave's on Powers Ferry in Marietta. They are very good and not to pricy either. I don't know about their ribs though. I never had them. But if it is like anything else on the menu they are good. Oh wait, my daughter did get the riblets a few times. Yes, :nod they were good.

Georgia is great because it is only a few hours from the beach for me. Come July and August, the humidity is so bad, I need the water to cool off.

Malvaro 03-14-2007 08:34 AM

1. I have friends and family in Atlanta

Great Things About Georgia.

It's NOT Alabama.

:D

Shakin' It Off 03-14-2007 08:57 AM

The devil went down to Georgia, he was looking for a soul to steal.
He was in a bind 'cos he was way behind: he was willin' to make a deal. :nod
When he came across this young man sawin' on a fiddle and playin' it hot.
And the devil jumped upon a hickory stump and said: "Boy let me tell you what: :aaa
"I bet you didn't know it, but I'm a fiddle player too.
"And if you'd care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with you.
"Now you play a pretty good fiddle, boy, but give the devil his due:
"I bet a fiddle of gold against your soul, 'cos I think I'm better than you."
The boy said: "My name's Johnny and it might be a sin,
"But I'll take your bet, your gonna regret, 'cos I'm the best that's ever been."

Well every time I read this thread ... "Georgia ..... Georgia ....." comes to mind. It's one of the few places in the US of A I haven't been to.

Georgia, Georgia, the whole day through
Just an old sweet song keeps Georgia on my mind

Georgia, Georgia, a song of you
Comes as sweet and clean
As moonlight through the pines

Other arms reach to to me
Other eyes smile tenderly

Still in peaceful dreams I see
The roads leads back to you

Georgia, Georgia, no peace I find
Just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind

But like I said I never was in Georgia.

My husband was. He and my oldest son completed our first deputation by themselves.....traveled for about 6 weeks while I was home getting packed, etc. because FMD wanted us in HK sooner than what had been planned.

They traveled in Georgia and Florida part of that time, but I missed out. We weren't scheduled there at all our 2nd deputation so I know not of whom you speak. ;) :)

He doesn't pastor anymore. He does still go to church there. He evangelizes from Jesup.
